3 arrested in home drug raid

Carmel-area residents suspected of dealing LSD after it is found where they live

Three suspected LSD dealers were jailed after a raid at their home turned up the hallucinogen along with marijuana and assorted prescription drugs, authorities said Friday.


Arrested Thursday were Allan Askren, 25, Michael Aveline, 28, and Amelia Crevello, 21. The Carmel-area trio live in the 10600 block of Broadway Street.


They were being held on felony drug charges in the Hamilton County Jail pending a court hearing Friday.


"We found quite a bit when we went into that residence -- LSD, marijuana and pills," said Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force Maj. Lee Goodman.


"We had made previous purchases, and we were able to get a search warrant for the place."


Goodman said the home was a warehouse for drugs the three residents sold in Hamilton and northern Marion counties. Drug buys set up as part of the month long probe took place near the home.


Other arrests were expected, including individuals Goodman identified as suppliers of the drugs.


"We're climbing the ladder," said Goodman, who described the form and amount of the LSD seized in the house as evidence the drug was intended for sale rather than private use.


"We found numerous vials throughout the house. It was all liquid, and they would process it from there," he explained. "They would buy it in a liquid form and either put it on paper or put it in sugar cubes.


"You can buy it either way. It costs more in a liquid form because you can get so much out of it."


Investigators found more than an ounce of marijuana. Hydrocodone and Xanax also were seized.


All three suspects had prior drug-related arrests, Goodman said.
