Effects - Paramethoxyamphetamine (PMA)

Swim was reading about anethole on wikipedia when he came across an article on a drug called PMA (Paramethoxyamphetamine). It is sometimes mixed with or sold as MDMA because it has similar effects but it has a high dose curve and is very easy to overdose on and supposedly many of the reported MDMA overdose cases were really caused by PMA and not MDMA.

Anyone heard of this stuff? Anyone here tried it? Are the effects identical to MDMA or does this PMA stuff have unique effects?

UTFSE (use the forum search-engine). This material has been written-up many times here. As a caution:

PMA is extremely dangerous. It's effects are those of a psychedelic amphetamine (DOx - family, sort of). It feels nothing like MDMA. Deaths attributed to MDMA are more often than not due to PMA. It de-regulates your brain's ability to control body-temperature. This can result in a fever with 108F being seen. The brain boils in it's own juices. You die.

Steer well clear of this if SWIM is wise. While some say it's an okay psychedelic, the dosage curve between psychedelic and lethal is extremely narrow. If you know anyone selling this - pour it in his/her toilet and flush!

Yeah from what swim read the risks outweight the benefits of this drug by a mile.

The first two will react with Marquis reagent, while the third will not.
