"The World's On Your Side" Philosophy
Have any of you noticed that when you relax knowing the worlds on your side and it will sort things out for you that things miraculously fall into place over time without any effort on your part?
I had the philosophy that the world was a big conscious thing and it provides what we need if we ask it and I was always real lucky my whole life but when I turned about 16 I dropped that philosophy for about 3 years and they were the worst 3 years of my life everything started falling apart and turning to shit and I was even starting to become depressed then I picked that philosophy up again and things have been getting better ever since. I never get depressed about anything because I know it will be sorted out for me but the crazy thing is it always does end up getting sorted out and I hardly ever put any effort into it. I suppose this is the positive thinking rule in action. When you think positively you do things the right way and sort your life out without putting much effort into it. This is exactly how I try and live my life everyday and it works most of the time. Currently I don't have a job and im finding that just waiting for the universe to provide is starting to make me anxious. although up untill this point the universe has always provided what I need at the time, and I guess right now I dont need much. Almost out of money and next months bills are rolling closer everyday. |

Re: The Worlds On Your Side Philosophy
That's a common conclusion of people who use MDMA and related. The world is working perfectly. You'd think Bush would want it legalized.

From personal experience and from other people I know that like to follow this philosophy they do not tend to believe that the world is working perfectly, they do bitch and moan about society and the slavery of money yet do nothing to voice their opinions.

I have no qualifications or trades myself so I'm going to college and see myself as a chemist or some kind of pharmacologist in about 5 years from now
Good luck with finding a job. |

Re: The Worlds On Your Side Philosophy
In my opinion its people that cause most of the problems we face today. Problems like starvation and disease could be solved if the government would stop wasting all their money on blowing up other countries and funded more scientists.

Re: The Worlds On Your Side Philosophy
I think it's within human nature to fear the worst at various intervals. When faced with challenges, naturally, we respond. These obstacles pass with time. Things do tend to work themselves out but it would be foolish to fall back on that notion entirely and let the world pass you by. We only live once.

although i don't think that the world is this big conscious thing i still feel that by staying true to yourself and others that things do fall into place.

Re: The Worlds On Your Side Philosophy
I think this is because depression and anxiety sit in when you focus on more exact things. If you believe everything will work out then you're basically just letting go of your current troubles and moving on.
While this can be good, SWIM sees many bad things developing from this way of thinking. SWIM sees himself undervaluing things on accident, forgetting things that shouldn't be forgotten, having no hobbies or specialties, and being pretty lonely when he tries this mindset. Maybe its just not for everyone, SWIM just focuses on the fact that his actions can change things, he doesn't really foresee the world helping him out with the things he desires to fix, though it would help him out if he were ready to just breeze on by. |

Yeah I was exaggerating when I said put no effort at all into things. Of course I still have to get up and go to work I don't just sit at home and wait for pay checks to come in the letter box but when I'm not trying to control things and stressing over getting things done they tend to flow naturally.

Re: The Worlds On Your Side Philosophy
It's kind of twisted/funny but when swim used to orphan trip (DXM) a lot it would make him feel so in-tune with the universe, so comfortable and so loved by his friends that he would go on Facebook and be really, really honest about things, because he felt unconditionally loved. But... he was saying these really mean things. Things that were very roundabout, very dense ideas; it wasn't like "you're a fat stinky idiot," but it was reflections on life like "I've never had a friend who stuck with me for more than a few months" and this was a huge slap in the face to his friends whom thought they were on his side.... Kind of ironic.
Other than that, I agree 100%. Feeling that the world isn't against you makes everything turn out fairly well, and the opposite paints even the best circumstances as failures... |

Re: "The World's On Your Side" Philosophy
Y is a skeptic at heart, but experience has shown Y that life (by some universal law) goes how Y wants it, when the thing Y wants is what Y needs.
Y used to just think these things were random luck, or misfortune. Y used to believe that when young, they were un-lucky, and as they got older, seemed to get luckier. This is cobblers of course, what was really happening, was that life was not flowing with Y when younger, because Y was too busy being blinded by external pressures like what others expected of him. As Y got older and had more vision of what they needed, instead of what they wanted, they began to want more of that which they needed. When Y directed his thoughts, and enthusiasm towards this, life, inevitibly followed in Y's favour. Of course, Y is still learning what he needs, and will continue to doso till he dies, so there are areas of life which are still not flowing with Y. Y, is still unconscious of many of his needs, and life is just waiting for him to be aware. I hope this post is helpful and easy to read. |
