cold water extraction
Hey guys I was wondering if cold water extraction is woth it with T1's as there is more than twice as much caffine as codeine?

Sure it's worth it. Especially if you have a bunch and want to use the recreationally.

Yes...definitely. It really does make a difference in reaching a
strong buzz. All that tylenol makes SWIM's liver ache .Edited by: OiledMandible |

Would anyone be kind enough to explain the theory and practice of
cold-water extraction, or point me to the post where it is explained? Sincerely, z. |

Cold water extraction is used to seperate codeine/oxycodone/hydrocodone
(the good stuff) from APAP (tylenol), ibuprofen, or aspirin (the bad stuff), which are present in Vicodin, the Tylenols, etc. The amount of opiate in these pills is so small it requires you to take a bunch to reach your goal, however the amount of additional junk (APAP in vicodin, for example) is generally so high that taking even a few pills puts you at risk for side effects (liver probs are the big concern). The theory behind cold water extraction is that opiates are water soluble, where APAP, ibuprofen, and aspirin are not. By clever use of cold water and a filter this extraction method allows you to ingest only the desired opiate, and not the everyday pain meds. Procedure here: http://adhpage.tripod.com/coldwater.htm Uhmmm.....why is this in benzoos?</font> |

Tried
it last night with 6 Kodimagnyls (danish brand) with 9.6 mg's per pill of codein in it. Did it all according the "coldwater manual", drank it down with a bit of fanta - didn't feel a thing.... ...did I do something wrong? Or should I just up the amount of pills (mg's)?? Pretty experienced codein-user. thanx, z. </font> </span></font> |

Seeing as how you followed the procedures and the potentiators part, I
have no idea why it didnt work. I would be weary about wasting pills myself (at least you got something before...). If you choose to try again, perhaps allow the solution to evaporate prior to ingestion. This would put the codeine back into powder form and allow you to gauge how effective your extraction was. Also, what else is in Kodimagnyls? I googled, but came up dry.</font></span></font> |

Kodimagnyl </span>(Nycomed)
These are available without prescription in Denmark. One pill contains: 500 mg acetylsalicacid 10 mg codein phosphate 150 mg magnesiumodixe (as heavy magnesiumhydroxid) Most of this is total greek to me though... anyone care to translate? I take about 5-6 of these at a time, and then I feel pretty calm for some hours. cheers, z. ps. they are advertised as "non-constipating" but my arse are they NOT, in the amounts I take them!! |

dedbeet, I think it worked, but you need to up your dose. 60mg of Codeine is about how much you find in a single tylenol #4. Try around 150-200mg and see how that goes, if you need to go up again next time.
Here are some instructions on how to do the extraction: cold water extraction The purpose of this experiment is to extract an opiate/opioid substance from combination tablets. The cold water method presented below relies on fact that opiates are generally very soluble in cold water, while paracetamol, aspirin, and ibuprofen are only very slightly soluble. Note: Pseudoephedrine and caffeine are relatively soluble in water, and will be present in the final product. Don't use dispersible tablets because it's very hard to extract secondary substances from them. Coffee filtersEquipment needed: * Minimum two glasses or cups * Paper filters (unbleached coffee filters will do) * Measure glass The term secondary substance refers to paracetamol, aspirin or ibuprofen. Procedure: 1. Crush thoroughly the tablets and carefully dissolve in cold (ca 20° C) water. Use approximately 2ml of water per 1 tablet, eg 100ml of water for 50 tablets. You may add more water if you can't dissolve the tablets easily. If you want to evaporate the liquid, it's better to use distilled water instead of tap water. Warning: Boiling and hot water may destroy codeine. 2. Cool the solution down to approximately 5° C (41° F) stirring occasionally. Very low temperatures make the secondary substances even less soluble. 3. Leave the solution in a cool place for about 20 minutes to let the secondary substances settle on the bottom of the container. 4. Wet the filter(s) with very cold water to prevent it from absorbing the solution and put it in the glass. Stick an elastic/rubber band around the container to keep the filter in place. 5. Coffee filterPour the solution through the filter to filter out the secondary substance from codeine. 6. Discard used filters with secondary substance solids left. Note: Even if you think you have eliminated the secondary substances from the liquid, don't attempt to ingest the product (it is illegal to do so if you don't have appropriate doctor's prescription). If you want to minimise the amount of secondary substance, you can attempt to evaporate some liquid and repeat the filtering. **BTW, how did this end up in the Benzo Forum?**Edited by: Mike177 |

remember the cold water extraction does exctract the caffeine, so keep that in mind
