Is dexedrine "speed"

I know dexedrine is dextroamphetamine but would it be correct when talking about it to call it speed?. Is dexedrine what speed is?. Thanks.

Yes, dextroamphetamine is considered speed along with many others (Adderal, Ritalin are common).

Not just any amphetamine either...any strong stimulant...have even heard ephedra referred to as "a form of speed". I personally dislike the term becauseit's way too general. "Speedfreak" though does generally refer to amphetamine abusers.

i think some people refer to the effects and others to the chemical structure; ritalin for example is sometimes called 'speed' because of its effects but it definately is not an amphetamine.
