SWIY could have posted this in SWIY's other thread.
In short, the answer is anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, however long it takes for the psilocin to oxidise. As far as SWIM knows, wherever you damage a psilo(cy)bin-containing mushroom, it should bruise blue. This may be difficult to see due to the mushroom's colour but it should still be there. According to Paul Stamets, P. semilanceata is typically very low in psilocin content (most of its alkaloid content is psilocybin), and rarely bruises bluish for that reason.

SWIM has heard this before, but has always wondered: does this also apply to severe damage such as a stem or cap squashed between one's fingers?
