Setting - showers & baths on lsd

hey i'm just wondering if it's a good idea to take a shower or sit in a hot tub while on lsd. does it weaken or heighten the effects? thanks in advance.

Many find a shower, or bath, centering and calming while on a psychedelic. In this respect it can be a very focusing and enjoyable activity. It has also been used to help someone have a bad time find their center and relax. It's really up to the person involved.

Well hell why not? In the fictional books by Carlos Castaneda Don Juan threw Carlos in a drainage ditch of water to reorient him from Datura if I recall correctly. Maybe it was datura. I dunno.

If swim does ever take a shower on acid or any other hallucinogen it is usually so he can focus, maybe come back to reality a bit. Otherwise he doesn't really like to. He can never feel how hot or cold the water is if he tries to set it while he is tripping and once he gets in the water feels kind of weird. Also, the last time swim got out of the shower tripping he felt he did a fair job of drying off but turns out it just felt that way. Somehow he was still dripping wet.

Realize "relaxing" and "centering" do not mean making the tripp less intense, don't worry about that.

Nobody always starts a tripp off with a good shower, though usually at T2h or 3h, good cleansing of the body, before that of the mind and soul.

The feeling of water can be amazing. Lord knows someday nobody is going to charter a boat in the Caribbean to drop them off with a little raft, out of sight of land, and leave them there for a bit. Blue. Blue above. Blue below. The entirety of all going blue.

Oh and if you do take a shower and there are other people in the house, don't come out naked and attempt to convince them to join you unless you are damn sure they would be cool with such actions. Nobody sure as hell wasn't and you want to talk about awkward.

smurf enjoys a good full 'nice temperature' bath. yeah preparing the bath can be a little weird if you just thought of trying it, but it really is lovely especially laying with your senses deprived under the water in the dark & listening to the frequencies bouncing off what ever is buzzing from the earth. you can actually hear your heart pumping the blood through your body if you concentrate carefully.
as for a shower, smurf has'nt tried on lsd it should be intense, all these drops hitting down at your body & you'll probably think you hearing things with the noise being produced bouncing off the walls & your self.

Swim has the luxury of having a hot-tub at his parents house, when he would trip on LSD, he would hot tub about 3 hours in and it always provides a nice body trip and a very good way to relieve some of the muscle tension that LSD can bring up.

Swim would also recommend a bath or shower when tripping. As Panthers said, it is a very good way to relax and find a calming center for thought in the sometimes overwhelming psychedelic headspace. The sitting water of a bath, and the thick wall of a bathroom, tend to absorb the ambient sounds of the buzzing earth/mind. And as the wise Samadhi said, a dip in a body of warm water does wonders to relieve the muscle-tension and aches that can come with an LSD experience.

Not saying that Samadhi isn't smart but having a hot tub etc. is one of the worst things you can do for your muscles. It will work wonders while you're in the the water, but when you get out your muscles tense even more.

Of course when SWIM had a shower on LSD it was unbelievable. Very deep thought patterns he had.

SWIM tripped on LSD a few weeks ago and had a shower whilst waiting to come up. He started giggling like a fool at first and then after a few minutes found that each droplet on his skin was like a full body orgasm. Seriously, he can not stress this enough, it was the most pleasant tactile experience he has had in his life. Incredible. The sense of touch on LSD is one of the things SWIM likes most about the drug.

swim had a bad trip and taking a bath was like washing off the bad memories and experiences, it did not affect LSD's affects though.

SWIM has done LSD twice.
Both trips lasted around twelve hours.

Eight hours into the second trip, SWIM decided to take a bath.
Although SWIM was still having very intense hallucinations,
SWIM found it very relaxing.

swim has never done lsd, but when he was going through a very difficult mushroom trip, he took a shower with his girlfriend (also tripping) and they both said it was one of the best experiences of their lives. no sexual activity was involved...just holding one another and letting the water allow them to feel human again. he will NEVER forget the best shower of his life .
