"Delayed Anxiety Syndrome"? Worse? Please Help
SWIM has only used MDMA 3 times, all of which have been in relative moderation. In January of this year he rolled for the first time off of a single pill, several weeks later he took another at a (ridiculously shitty) club, and lastly, in mid-March, him and 5 of his friends divided a gram of molly between themselves.
He would like to note that all 3 of the experiences were incredible, profound even, as during the last of them he and a girl he had been seeing sporadically realized their actual level of compatability, resulting in what has been the most fulfilling relationship of SWIM's thus far.
After his first two times SWIM had never felt a single repercussion other than a generalized fatigue for a small portion of the following day. After the latest, however, he suffered from severe fits of anxiety over extremely trivial events. This eventually subsided after a few days, in a way. For weeks after this he would witness episodes of mild to moderate anxiety leading toslight depersonalization over things equally as trivial. The following had persisted for months, becoming slightly worse but still totally managable.
SWIM then came from college for the summer, assuming it would be just what he needed, but when he started working things became EXPONENTIALLY worse. He became increasingly stressed, increasingly depersonalized, and frighteningly depressed. It's been exacerbated to the point where he has little to no appetite, sleeping is difficult at best, and his sex life with his girlfriend has suffered tremendously, in terms of both libido and ertecile dysfunction (i'm 19?).
The worst part for him seems to be stemming from the depersonalization, but he's wondering if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms: there are periods where he's either emotionally dull towards everything around him (save being depressed he isn't himself), but there are also times when he's content with scenarios that normally wouldn't amuse him. Emotional connections with others are terribly difficult, and his sense of humor (what he prided himself upon) has, it seemed, totally escaped him. SWIM also feels as if it isn't his memory that has been affected (as is common with MDMA use), but his FOCUS, it's difficult to explain, though. Everyday emotional interactions are also somtimes muddled and confusing.
He apologizes for the length of his post, but is pretty desperate for any type of guidance. SWIMecalls seeing something on Erowid about a "Delayed Anxiety Syndrome" in novice MDMA users in which the symptoms fit mine to some extent, but can't recall where exactly on the site it was, and can't seem to re-locate it.
I apologize for the ridiculous length of the thread, i'm just pretty desperate for any kind of help. Thanks.
