Smoking - Cashed?

i know this is a noob question

how do you know when a bowl is "cashed"

When you see Swim reaching for his bag to pack another one!


The bowl will be full of only powdery ashes that when pushed down with ones pointer finger will be 100% flat with no little chunks left in, or you will stop getting smoke out of it when its inhaled from the mouth piece while lighting the bowl head with a generic store bought butane lighter.

Usually a 'bowl' is considered 'cashed' when the application of a lighter fails to produce more smoke. When all of the green has gone from green to brown to black to a white/grey powder, the bowl is 'cashed'. Some people 'cash' bowls earlier, when there is simply no green left, while others will smoke them till all the contents of the bowl have turned to dusty, powdery ash.

To SWIM a bowl is not cashed until in desperation it is scraped over and over agin until there is no more resin to scrape. Then the bowl if metal is put on the hot red coils of an electric stove and the last molecules are burned off only to be inhaled by a fabricated paper cone. A wooden bowl is cashed when it has been scraped over and over until one is actually smoking pure wood shavings.

Well some folks take their drug problems seriously. Or at least use to.

it is easy to tell when the bowl is kicked.

one way to tell is that it will sometimes kick in the middle of SWIY's or a friends hit. it is obvious to the smoker when this happens because the smoke entering the persons lungs will suddenly become much less intense.

if it doesnt kick in the middle of a hit, then SWIY will have to tell by looking. start by brushing away some of the gray/black ash on top. if there is anything left then SWIY should see either a little bit of green laying at the bottom, or slighly black-ish still burning bud on the bottom, depending on how cooked the remaining substance is.

if it is still too difficult to tell, SWIM supposes that one could either assume its kicked and pack a new bowl, or someone could be brave and risk hitting all ash. (the latter is not very pleasant, so checking this way is not recomended unless SWIY reaaaally thinks there might be some left.

Well when SWIm was really bad and starving for the high. He would take the bong water full of resin and ashes and pot and condense it dooown and then dry the remains on aluminum foil in the oven and smoke that. And when things were also bad he would take a magnifying glass and find peices of pot in the carpet. But it would be hard to seperate them from the nylon carpet fibers so he would smoke them too. Like SWIM says it all depends on your level of commitment to the project.
