Morphine 30mg ER Vs. Morphine 30mg IR

Ive been taking MSIR 30mg 6 tabs 4 times a day for years now. Ive ran out early, but now have some 30mg ER made by Ethex. To get the same effects from the ER that I get from the IR tabs, do I just need to crush and swollow? Will it last as long as the IR tabs? What do I need to know? Please help, WD's suck hard at this dose.
