Drug info - can someone tell me about what i saw...ppl said ether

i dont knwo if this is the right thread...if its the wrong place sorry i looked and didnt really see anywhere that would fit good.

i was at a party and saw someone with a small brownish glass like vile it was about 2 inchs tall and about 3/4 inchs around there was a clear liquid and white rock looking peices inside it. then later when i saw it next there was no liquid inside it and people were shiffing the small vile.

the only thing i heard people say was ether. but after looking online the onlything i found about ether is that its a liquid.

if someone could help explain to me what it was that would be awesome. if you know what it does and what the bad side effects are...or even a place to find the info about what im talking about.

the main reason i ask is a very good friend of mine that only drinks and has nvr done anything else ever tried it but we dont even know what it was.

Hmmm this sounded ike rush or another "popper" substitute sold in porn shops as a vcr head cleaner/amyl nitrite/nitrate? substitute, Did your friends face get all flush/red/hot feeling? pounding noise in his/her head?

ether is sometimes used in making crack which could easily have been the white things you saw but crack is smoked not sniffed.

Are you sure people were sniffing an empty vial? That sounds kinda silly to me!

i didnt see my friend do it. so i dont know how much he did. he told me that he just smelled it to see what it was. but i heard him talking to someone else about doing it and said that nohting happen. he was also pretty drunk already.

i didnt notice anyone else with redness in the face.

the vile wasnt empty. the white rock looking things were still inside of it but the liquid was gone...

Im sorry but nobody will be able to tell you much given the information available.
The white rock looking things were probably crack cocaine which has no effect when smelled in such a manner.

yes that would be very similar to what it looked like. but it was in a small clear brown glass or plastic bottle i didnt get to actually look at it in my own hands or anything.

you have been very helpful...sorry for my lack of good info. we dont do any kind of drugs and i was shocked and amazed that he did that then bothered that he told me he only smelled it then heard him talking to someone else saying nothing happen. we were hammered and i havnt seen him yet today. i jsut wanted to get some info on it before i talked to him about it and make sure i have my details straight so i could throw some scarry details about how bad it was.

ether is also "smelled" or huffed but much larger then a quick sniff is needed to achive effects.

they were also passing around a bottle of canned air...i know that messed up but ppl are werid. like the kind that you spray your key board with. (that party was split...drinking and pong outside and this shit inside.)

yea, regular inhalents. Litereally kills your brain. People have actually died from it.

Ether is safe, whereas regular inhalants are deadly.

Swim personally doubts it was ether. It's VERY hard to find on the black market.

Perhaps Swim is wrong. It might've been ether made from automotive starting fluid. Impure and dangerous to huff that, though.

I agree with fnord. Sounds like amyl nitrate or butyl nitrate, which are used in heart patients incase they need a sudden rush to start there heart back. Like heart attacks and shit. People use them as poppers for the rush.

We can't be 100% sure and guesswork is useless at this point. But it doesn't sound as though your 100% sure there was a liquid ever in the vial, and amyl and butyl nitrate both have to be kept in a small tinted vial so potency isn't ruined.

I don't think i have ever seen anyone carry crackrock in a tinted vial. Although the two look similiar i doubt it was crack.
