Alternatives to codeine?
Hi guys,
SWIM is on the SNRI antidepressant Effexor, so his codeine attempts (up to 300mg+ without tolerance!) had absolutely NO effect whatsoever. SWIM is really bummed out about this, and is wondering if any kind SWIY knows of anything that would work while on an antidepressant? Preferably not too hard and similar to codeine. Thank SWIY

Re: Alternatives to codeine?
Swim does not understand how an SNRI would affect codeine working or not working, as opposed to tramadol, which swim theorizes is similar in terms of ceiling and potency, as well as tramadol acting as an SNRI on it's own.
Swim can think of nothing, really, that is close to codeine and would certainly work. Swim thinks that propoxyphene might be along the same lines. Low dose hydrocodone as well, but as far as Swim thinks, that drug has greater potential for abuse. And Swim also says, do not move to stronger opiates, especially heroin. Not worth it. |
