Smoking - Great looking and smelling nugs, don't get me very high? WTF?

This entire thread is written in the first person even though it is a completely fictional tale. Everywhere I is written it should be assumed as me talking about swim. Now that this is out of the way, I will proceed:

Ok, so I am going on vacation in a couple weeks, getting there by driving 18 hours. Will be with family so everything will be safe to bring. In the event we got pulled over it would look like a family traveling, no cop on the planet would ask to search.

Anyhow, I bought a half ounce of weed in anticipation for the trip. Upon first observing the bud, I was very happy. It smelled nice, big nugs, and looked good. I smoked with my guy that night and we wound up rolling 3 1 g blunts and smoking 3 fat bowls. I got high, but not as high as usual and I found it odd that we could even smoke that much. Usually with the kind of weed he gets, 1 blunt and you're pretty much set.

Then, after talking to him today, I found out he blew through his 1/4 of this same pot in less than 2 days! This is pretty much a record for him even though he smokes all the time. Usually he will not blow through that much pot in that short of a span as he likes to conserve. This further makes me think the pot was bad quality for him to smoke it that fast.

Now the past couple days I have smoked a bowl of this weed and every time afterwards I feel let down. I hardly feel high at all and can't quite tell why. My tolerance is no higher than usual, but usually a fat bowl of the kind of weed I smoke gets me high as fuck. Something is funky with this bud, it looks fresh and isn't ABV weed. Maybe just a case of good looking, smelling, fat nugs that have low THC %?

So what would you D-F, stop smoking for a couple weeks, bring the pot I have with me and hope my lack of tolerance will get me higher? Or should I just get new pot and "dispense" of the old.

I am tempted to get rid of the remainder and pay a little more to get a new half ounce of some great weed, but if I couldn't locate any weed before I left, I would feel dumb for not just keeping what I have.

That being said, it is very possible that a healthy plant with nice smelling and looking flowers could produce little amounts of THC. It could have been picked early, have poor resin production genetics, or have been kiefed previously. It is doubtful, but possible, that it is 'legal buds' or fake buds, but it would be suprising.

Yeah, after posting swim had the feeling he had violated the rules by asking about that. Swim will edit that out of the post. Sorry about violating the rules.

As far as it being legal buds, swim doesn't think this is possible. He has been smoking marijuana for years now and can definitely identify weed when he sees it. He has seen imitation buds before and they look nothing like the real thing, especially to an experienced toker.

The reason swim is cautious towards complaining about this bud and getting new bud is because swim only has one good connect at this moment. He doesn't want to appear to be a pot snob or too picky to deal with.

Swim has resolved to grow his own after experiencing similar circumstances. Though not only for that reason, swim is just one of those do-it yourself types.

Most likely a healthy plant with a low THC yield is responsible for nice looking and smelling buds that fail to deliver a good high. Just my two cents

Swim once purchased "Arizona" for almost double his usual price. His usual buds are in brick form, but the "Arizona" were very big, fluffy, pretty buds. Sadly though, the "Arizona" got him way less high than his usual brickweed.

Too bad most sellers today are liars as well.
