How do swiy scrape their pipe?

Swim puts his in the fridge for about 20 min then takes a coated paper clip and forces it up and down the bowl and stuff and scrapes all the resin out lets it get back to room temp and then usually cleans it w/ some dawn dish desolver and let it sit for ten minutes and washes it out and lets it dry. then its blaze time

anyone else do it similar to swim? anyone else do it completely different then swim?

SWIM usually cleans out and saves what he can with a paperclip, then boils the pipe to get it fully clean.

hmmm swim's never boiled the pipe but nxt time he might thanks for the idea

swim lets it soak in a bag filled with alcohol and a good amount of the salt that has big grains, the one usually used for meat in bbqs, and the shakes the hell out of it, the alcohol makes the resin more loose and the salt helps to scrape it off, after this a good rinse with water to get out all the salt and alcohol, not a good idea to have a pipe catch fire when one is about to take a hit!

yep the alcohol and salt method cleans glass the best , i use regular table salt and it works great. the higher the purithy of the rubbing alcohol the better

SWIM uses formula 420. unlike many other less effective cleaning solutions, this stuff cleans the piece fully and leaves no strange after odor or flavor for the next time the piece is smoked out of.

the first time SWIM used this stuff he was amazed. the directions are to pour some in the bowl and then cover all holes and shake for a minute. SWIM only shook it for 30 seconds and even then all that was left was the tiniest bit of charred bud on the inside. when done for the full minute the bowl was as clean as the day SWIM bought it.

SWIM highly suggests using this stuff if SWIY wants a very clean piece and doesnt want to save up the existing resin to smoke.

Phaze also uses the alcohol method.

He uses a small container with a lid, puts a couple of pipes in, fills it with 90% isopryl alcohol and lets it sit in a cool dark place for around 2 days. If the pipe is black from all the resin he will take it out after day 2 and change the alcohol.

After the pipe sits in alcohol long enough the resin breaks free from sticking to the glass, using the hottest water his sink will offer the resin jumps right off. Just turn the water on hot, and let the pressure of the water wash the pipe clean.

This method also makes phazes pipes return to like new. He lets them sit for some time to allow the alcohol to evaporate.

On days were swim needed his pipe clean immediately, using hot water, alcohol, pipe cleaners, and q tips is the easiest way.

Phaze has never had a pipe catch on fire from using alcohol.

In fact he explained in another thread that one time while drinking he took a cereal bowl and filled it up with 90% alcohol, dropped a pipe in and then wondered if it would catch on fire. He held the lighter to it and it did not. Dumb i know, but phaze was really drunk and he doesnt drink often. Probably why too right.

SWIM just got done cleaning his bowl for his bizzong Alachol and a few q-tips and one tooth pick for some junk that got stuck in a hard to get area. Ten mins latter brand effing new ill deff try using a lil salt next time, Swim likes to smoke so he wont spend his money on 420 solution

For the people using brand solutions, use isopropyl alcohol, it should leave NO smell at all, since it evaporates completely, and it's waay cheaper.

This guy said to me, "What I usually do is what everyone says: leave it for 10 minutes, shaking it every couple minutes, add salt and shake, rinse with water and the pipe looks clean as new, with no smell at all. I sometimes add a drop of vanilla or mint essence to give it a little touch "

swim uses a lighter and heats the bowl up, and then scrapes it with a paper clip. If swim were to really wanna get the bowl clean then he would boil it as said by many people above. If you want it to hit like it's brand new go to a headshop and buy some bowl cleaner. It really makes it look brand new.
