Xanax/Alcohol Mix

I have a friend named Frank. He wants to know the poper dose of xanax mixed with a SMALL amount of (He is currently prescribed 4 mgs. of Xanax per day). He has a HIGH tolerance to Xanax, but wants that "buzz" he used to get from taking Benzos in combo w/ alcohol. What would you recommend? The guy has a tolerance of a horse when it comes to the Xanax, but a moderate tolerace to alcohol. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

the responsible answer is, dont mix them.

SWIM's own experience is that if someone is using 4 mg a day, and would like to drink, one should only take 2 mg for the day, as the alcohol will greatly intensify any effect, and xanax when mixed with alcohol seems to have this dosage cliff, which one does not want to go over. for example, in swim's experience 3 mg of xanax would limit one to two drinks, and a mere 2 mg of xanax would allow one to have up to 8 drinks with little negative effects. any more was overkill and likely to cause a blackout, whereas sober swim can take almost inexhaustible amounts of xanax without a real "blackout" (max prescribed dosage was 6 mg per day, and would often go much higher than that for recreative/self destructive purposes) either way the combination is powerful and addictive, and the swim of today advises all who pass in earshot simply not to mix the two. they both have excellent characters in and of themselves, enjoy them for what they are.

how to maxing xanax and alcohol? simple answer: very carefully.

granted that xanax and alcohol can be a very good combination, its a VERY fine line between benzo/booze bliss and wtf did i do last night complete blackout.

without a lot of experience with both substances, it will be very difficult to gauge whether SWIY can take more of one or another, or whether SWIY should lay off and chill for a bit. even more so, without experience combining both substances, it makes walking this line even more difficult (even though that sounds like an oxymoron).

SWIM's advice is to start small and work your way up. also, maybe SWIY should cut back to 2mgs of xanax the day he wants to drink. even with a good tolerance, SWIM would think that 4mgs would be a large amount to mix with alcohol.

SWIYou should try and taper down a little if the tolerance is as high as u say. simply take half the normal dose tmrw, then half of that the next day..however SWIY should be careful with this combo, swim can tell u from the few dozen times he's done this its always verrrry lightly and cautiously. once it is overdone its..over and done with benzo's n alcohol =D

i recommend swiy really consider tapering, and then coming back to his drug of choice. its really the only solution on here that actually has a guarantee when it comes to swiyour bodies reaction to fighting off the drug

This combination has always had very negative side effects for phaze and is not recommended aswell. When phaze has tried this he forgets whole days, conversations, people tell him that they saw/talked to him and he doesn't remember, blacking out, losing since of judgement completely.

Also for phaze he has been told that this combination causes him to think he is sober, and feel overly confident in himself, also while being an asshole and throwing common sense out the window.

While a very good time, the ones he can remember, it's not advised.

Phaze has dosed with high levels of Xanax excededing 10mg with alcohol.

No more than 2mg should really ever be used, even in experimentation, 2mg, add more beer, not more xanax. In fact, hide/throw away the xanax before combining the two, only have one dose of xanax available.

I think that some people are going to try it anyway, regardless of the warnings against it some people are already trying it without seeking for information. For those who are going to try it, i must stress this part.

What i mean is, you will forget that you have taken the xanax, and take more, it is pretty much inevitable that you are going to take more xanax. Hide or store the xanax at a different location, not were you can find them, because you will talk yourself into taking more. Maybe you take the pill that you forgot you just took. Or think your sober and decide you need more xanax. This is false. Just be absolutely sure to only have the intended dose of xanax on hand and the rest is entirely inaccessable.

Also I would not have a large stock of beer on hand, and be cautious and start low. This is a very addictive combination, so be extremely careful of the dose. The effects are very pleasurable, but they can very easily be overdone. Lowered inahabitions and crazy thought patterns and judgement. So a safe enviroment with someone making sure that things don't get out of control should be advised. Maybe watch a movie or a indoor activity. You can also find yourself leaving the house and getting into trouble very quick. Seems that most lab rats have so poor of judgement while commiting crimes in open areas the are so inebriated that forget they are in the wrong in any way.

So please be careful, and try to keep it safe.

Best of wishes, and my advice would be to stay away from this one, because one wrong night on this and a lifetime slip-up is not worth the pleasurable effects. Also overdoing it will cause major memory loss. You may not even remember the entire day. So be warned.

The two are brutal together.

Swim knows many locals, lots of who he knew personally, died from mixing the two without thinking.

Have to be very safe and careful, if not avoid all together.

I personally know of two people who have died from this combination. Granted they most likely did more than they should have, it is still too dangerous for me to even think of trying. I wouldn't recommend you trying it either even if it is the shit.

Swim has learned from experience that the resulting effects are a much more stupid Swim and a bigger, longer blackout.

With benzos in general, Swim finds adding alcohol just makes him more likely to black out and forget the entire thing, which is completely pointless.

The phenomena of forgetting one has taken a medication and, so, taking more medication is called "Retrograde-Amnesia." This is most notable, and specific, in the use of CNS depressants such as benzodiazepines and barbituates. It can easily prove fatal. Alcohol potentiates these drugs' effects and dangers - including retrograde-amnesia.

people are right to say not too but i am expirienced with mixing benzos and never go over 4 drinks and 2mg of xanax or an equivalent. swim has never had blackouts from these doses.

No matter how experienced you are with this combination does not mean it cannot be fatal. Be careful.

yes swim is also careful and has never taken over 2mg clonazepam/alprazolam or equivalent and 3-4 drinks. swim thinks this is a safe zone for most people but does not recomend this combo as most people end up redosing and thats when they get into trouble.... once u loose ur inhibitions end up redosing...

Alcohol exacerbates this.

Your lucky you didn't go into a coma, thats a very stupid dose to take. Never take 16mg of xanax, even if you aren't drinking and have a tolerance like a horse, 16mg is way to much.

In SWiM's experience its possible to have a good and even recallable time with alcohol+xanax as long as one keeps the doses low. However, this is hardly to say that its not decently foolhardy at best. SWiM has fairly low benzo tolerance and around average alcohol and had a good night on 2 mg xanax and 4-5 glasses of fairly weak sangria. Just no fucking liquor. SWiM has been told he made the mistake of having mixed high-dose (4 mg w/ no tolerance) xanax, about 1.5 g of decent cannabis and some vodka, but has no recollection whatsoever of the night and much of the next day. I'd say it could very well have been quite dangerous or even fatal if it weren't for the amphetamines.

God, just seeing that typed makes SWiM feel like a fucking idiot.

SWiM has also sat with a good friend for about four hours debating whether to call an anmbulance while he passed in and out of consciousness after breaking the 'no alcohol w/ benzos' rule a little to vigorously.

On the contrary, never mix uppers and downers. Swifelix mixed benzos which is a downer, and alcohol which is a depressant, another downer, with a stimulant, amphetamines which is a upper. This is called speedballing and should be avoided at all cost. Speedballing of any kind can cause your heart to stop and you to die. Aswell as many other permanent non fatal illnesses.

Be sure to research your drug combos before combining them at all times, most drugs fall into categorys of upper downers etc and some combos do not work, this happens to be one of them, never mix the two.
