Culture - Films- amphetamine use and drugs in general

I know alot of us, and our friends of friends, have seen 'Spun' and the reactions seem quite mixed. I found it quite disturbing at the time, but must admit it had some excellent moments (I was very amused by the green dog incident). I was just curious as to what other films related to drug use, speed in particular, you've come across and if they're worth a look. Incidentally, I'm currently reading 'Porno', the sequel to 'Trainspotting' and it's possibly even better. Any recommendations film wise would be much appreciated xx

There's a brilliant movie called "Quadraphenia" which is all about mods in England during the 60's. Apparentley amphetamine was the drug of choice for mods and in the film (which features Sting) they break into pharmacys to get thier hands on some 'blues' which were either dexamphetamine or a mix of dexamphetamine and a type of barbituate.
The movie takes place in Brighton which is a coastal town on the south coast of England about an hour and a half south of London which is a bit of a party town Londoners often visit on weekends. SWIM was visting family in England last year and spent most of his time in Brighton and can attest to it being a brilliant party town although he found it almost impossible to source any amphetamine so made do with the cheap coke there (amongst other things).
SWIM wouldnt necacerraly call it an amphetamine movie per say not like spun for instance which is completley centered around amphetamine use and abuse but it (speed) definattley plays a large role in the film gradually taking it's toll on the main charachter who at the end ends up....... hang on I dont won't to blow the ending for you haha.
SWIM reccomends it and thinks it is much better than spun which he enjoyed also
