Opinions - speed flavors

Swim tried various types of speed in his life (yellow,reddish,white,dry,wet, oily,powder,crystals, and others)but he never had opportunity to try 100% pure substance like ICE or crystal meth. Could you more experienced users compare him amphetamine and methamphetamine in hydrochloride and sulphate forms. He is interested in effects of different kinds of speed so he can know when he used which one.

SWIM finds the differences between amphetamine and methamphetamine (whether in basic(sp?) or salt forms) to be very similar in effects. So similar in fact to be almost identical. He just need more of amphetamine by weight than he does of meth. Meth hits slightly harder and the crash is a bit harsher but other than that theres not a great deal of difference.
The most difference significant differences in amphetemaine SWIM suspects is when he gets speed of a different isomer. (An isomer for want of a better term is like a mirror image of the molecule or a molecule that has the same structure but with a different orientation... sorry this prolly isnt a great explanation, have a look around the site there are lots of good explanations of isomers around.) It's the dextro isomer that gets you off with amphetamine. SWIM swears he's had speed which seemed different, not as full on and tweaky but with not as good a high. He beleives this was reacmic amphet, namely a mix (prolly 50/50) of levo and dextro isomer... still a good high imo.
Also the different salts of the drug don't seem to change the effect of the it although some may work differently... I really dont know.
As far as different colours are concerned they're impurities... you dont want that obviously.
