SWIM has been clean from opiates for over 24 hours now after a binge which lasted entirely too long. SWIM managed to pull this off with a whole bottle of hydro sitting right here beside him, when normally he would only stay clean if he were either out of drugs or, more likely, out of money. SWIM did have to take his daily dose of benzos, but that was only after he drank one small cup of coffee which made him very anxious. SWIM also used some medical marijuana to relieve him of his nausea and intense depression. After smoking it, SWIM is now happy and able to get back to work.

But first he has this rant...

SWIM doesn't understand why his nontoxic & 100% organic medicine is illegal and hard to obtain, when deadly drugs such as caffeine and nicotine are legal and so readily available. These substances are consumed by kids & teens on a regular basis, yet our government never warns us about that. Not to mention the powerful stimulants, anti depressants, sleeping pills, and other drugs that many parents feed to their kids these days on a regular basis.

"wtf???" says SWIM.

SWIM has lived with depression & anxiety for the entire 22 years he has been on his current planet. Depression and anxiety disorders seem to run in SWIM's family. SWIM has tried everything to get rid of his illnesses, yet nothing so far has cured them. SWIM runs on an almost daily basis and takes Cymbalta, Fish Oil, and Melatonin as recommended by his doctor(s). SWIM also sometimes takes kratom or other weak opiates, and also smokes marijuana. He finds these natural remedies to be the most effective treatments for his ailments.

Because SWIM's medicine is illegal, he's forced to either acquire it from shady street dealers or go without. He doesn't steal to support his habit or anything like that and SWIM would rather not be a criminal. Another big problem here is that these street dealers also give SWIM access to an entire range of dangerous & addictive (but fun in his mind) drugs. SWIM finds it hard to say no when all of these things are right there in his face. But since he lives in a state with shite marijuana laws he's screwed.

SWIM still remembers his first encounter with these substances. Several D.A.R.E. officers came to his elementary school to warn him of the dangers of drugs. They showed him a glass box full of colorful pills and other intriguing items and told SWIM to stay away from them because they would make you "hallucinate" and see things which weren't really there. Of course this sounded fun to SWIM and he fell instantly in love. Since that day, SWIM has experienced a large amount of chemicals, both legal and illegal. Many of these SWIM will still do on occasion when he comes across them, though he never goes out searching for them. Many were so terrifying that SWIM wouldn't do them again even if they were free!

There is one last thing on SWIM's list that he's yet to try, and he sincerely hopes he never comes across it while he's out trying to procure his medicine. SWIM knows himself well enough to know that he wouldn't be able to resist, and it would surely be the death of him...

Ok, SWIM says that he is tired and he'll get off of his soapbox now. But he must admit that while writing this he decided to take a hydro for some reason, so there goes his clean time. But at least SWIM now knows that it's possible and he can do it, so maybe he will try again tomorrow.
