Opinions - Swim needs a subsitute for Hydrocodone, going to Italy, France, Germany and Portugal

maybe more. Swim has been taking hydro for the last year daily and would have enough for trip but said his pharmacist wouldn't give him a refill only 3 days early. He even took in his plane tickets and passport for proof of trip. Anyhow he will run out mid trip and is looking for something to keep the WD's at bay at least. Has heard codiene is OTC in many Euro counties. To the people that live there or ones who have traveled help my good friend out.

Codeine, brand name Codeisan, is not really OTC in Spain, but most drugstores will sell it anyway, it's always better to ask for the brand name since it means more $$$ for the drugstores and they will be more willing to sell it.

Well if SWIM has a prescription from a doctor SWIM should just tell the doctor and have the doctor do something like write another prescription or maybe call the pharmacist

True, if swim has a prescription, he will probably be able to go to a doctor in any of those countries and get a prescription from them.

And also, codeisan is not mixed with anything, pure codeine, 30mg per pill

SWIM does have a script and has been calling his doctor all day, he knows his doc so he can do this, the doctor had mentioned a month ago he might go on vacation at some point this summer and he thinks this is what happened. Again if he could reach sed doctor he could get a whole nother script.
Another option, what about telling him to visit a doc in the box tomorrow ie chain doctors and tell about problem show all the flight info etc and explain story. Part of me thinks the doc would think he was a med seeker.
Do you think if he took the Walmart bottle to a doctor in another country that doctor might help him get something like hydro since he knows hydro does not exist in europe.

I think this would be a good option actually, specially if he takes his past scripts, bottle and tickets.

showing your bottle in another country probably isnt going to get you too far. just get the otc codeine, or if you're really that scared, pick some shit off the street. i doubt airport security is going to id your perscription, especially if it has your name on it and all that jazz

Update, Swim has only found a codiene para mix in France that is it. Also he didn't buy enough so either needs to go back or hope that Switzerland or Austria can offer some help. Any people know the Swiss OTC laws? From what he can tell no codiene is allowed OTC anyone have a different experience?

Oh he did this and believe it or not all they would give was a lousy 20 tabs, better than nothing but still. And he doesn't look like a seeker type very well dressed etc, they still barely even believed his story. Is was as if he had printed out the tickets and made fake script bottles.

In switzerland only paracodin (dihydrocodein) is available OTC, which isn't a good analgesic, but may help for WD symptoms. In germany, generally no opioides are sold OTC and almost no pharmacy would sell it without prescription. In poland, codeine is sold otc as "Antidol" (15mg codeine + 500mg acetominophen) or "Thiocodin" (15mg codeine + 500mg sulfogaiacolum). Austria i don't know, but i guess there are no opiates sold otc, otherwise i would have heard about it. In spain, as said, codeine is available and tramadol (Adolonta).

What about Prague in the C.R. ? He heard that just straight codiene was available there. Also about switzerland, are you 100% sure of what you stated? He needs to know as he is counting on this big time.
