THE SMELL OF DEATH

At age 21, I was introduced to ecstasy at after-hours and raves.

Then someone said, "Hey, take this line."

Sure enough, it was crystal meth, and I was hooked.

I took it all the time at work during the day for energy, and would stay up for three days at a time.

At first, I thought I was the happiest girl in the world.

Then I overdosed twice. I was becoming paranoid and thought everyone was out to kill me.

A friend told me, "You smell like death." And, sure enough, my body was rotting from the inside because of crystal. The smell is like no other.

I stopped doing the drug on my own and got counselling. Although I would slip up occasionally, once I became pregnant that stopped it altogether.

Today, I suffer constantly from nerve damage, anxiety and panic. But I have learned to cope.

Crystal meth is everywhere, especially among young teenagers. I just try to share my stories, hoping they will get scared.

And, if I ever get tempted, I just look at my daughter and say, "She is life."

That's such a heartwarming story... What the hell? "I tried
crystal meth once and then I was addicted and my body started
rotting..." I don't know about this... the anti-drug stories are
always so outrageous.



She probably smelled because she was up for a few days and was so spun
she neglected her personal hygiene... I'd smell pretty bad if I
was up for 3 or 4 days without a shower...

Reminds me of one of my favorites from the book "Hallucinogens
and Your Neurons: The Incredibly Disgusting Story." Told the story of a
young teenager who started off smoking pot in the park, and next thing
you know, he was droppin 'cid and torturing puppies. The book also
included a bunch of pictures of people who injured themselves while
tripping (feet burned to a read mash, etc.)

I think it's sick the way people blame they're problems on drugs. If you choose to do a drug, don't bitch when it comes back to bite you in the ass. It's your own fault, deal with it. People blame everything and everyone but themselves, it's always the drugs fault, the dealers fault, the families fault, BUT NEVER THEY'RE OWN! Sorry, I'm very pissed, I feel better now
