Can alcohol help with headaches???

Hi, I sometimes get very bad headaches that no pain medication, like tylenol or ibuprofen can remedy, however I have noted that drinking a very small amount of alcohol, a glass of wine or a very small amount of vodka does wonders for it, has anybody else experienced this? I myself find it very strange, but it does work.Any input would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

of course this works. swim does this all the time. plus most headaches you don't want to be socially aware of the world, and a little bit more can help tune out the world.

Re: Can alcohol help with headaches???

because it's an anesthetic. It was used durring the 1600's when soldiers especially needed surgury, which was pretty much cutting of a limb. it acts on different receptors of the brain than something tylenol would, and plus with pain releivers, they can only go so far. plus having 2 drinks a day is a lot more healthier than having over a gram of acetomenophine a day. the drinks are actually benificial.

He drinks a monster, coffee or tea preceded by a glass of water and he's fine afterwards.
So why does it help me whenever I have a headache? I just want some explanation, because it really does help
