Opinions - skunk or pure marihuana?

White widow, blueberry...are they skunk or pure marihuana?

Well, white widow and blueberry are skunk in the sense that they are generally grown indoors under artificial lights. It's possible to grow both strains organically but it's far more likely one would be offered the skunk variety (skunk being a catch-22 phrase for most strong indoor-grown strains). SWIM sampled both white widow and blueberry on his trips to Amsterdam and must say that both are exceptionally fine strains, amongst the best he's tried. Blueberry has a very distinctive taste, that like the name suggests, tastes a bit like blueberries! White widow is considered to be the king of strains having picked up many Cannabis Cup awards in years gone by.

well both are marijuana. skunk is just a term for the realy strong strains. white widow definetly being one of them. from what he knows, he always hears of white widow being the strongest of them all. but who knows maybe there is some out there even stronger?

Marijuana has two different types. Indica strain, Sativa strain.

All these fancy names are just names people give them when they make a hybrid of X indica and X sativa.

Such as example.
30% indica 70%sativa = northern lights.

Both are marijuana, and the white widow phaze smokes, maybe isn't even the same % hybrid as the next guy gets from someone else. Just both carry the white widow name because of the potency to help sells; given it a well known name.

And to answer the question simply. Are they skunk or pure marihuana.?

Skunk is pure marihuana as i explained.

From what I undertstand, it is a little more complicated than % of indica and % of sativa in a specific strain. Many plants have been cloned and then bred with other plants of especially high quality and with a greater than normal level of desired traits. There are some strains that are known to produce especially sticky bud and others with slight flavors to them.

Skunk once was a species of cannabis. (Skunk #1, bread by Sam) Now in some countries(especially the UK) the word skunk is used to describe potent cannabis.

While the average THC content of Skunk #1 is only 8.2%, the word skunk is used to describe potent cannabis species, which often have a THC content of more than 15%. A THC content of 8.2% can hardly be called potent.

As described above marijuana is another word for cannabis.

Both white widow as blueberry are very potent species and can therefore be described as 'skunk'. The result of a THC analysis done on a sample of White Widow that won the 2004 Highlife cannabis cup, showed a THC level of 26%.
