Culture - i’m doing some reaserch: Social Impact of LSD?

i'm doing a reaserch report on the 60's 70's hallucinogenic drug
culture, and i'm trying to narrow it down, now, i know it's a large
bite to take off so what would be a good topic? social impact on the
nation as in the lifestyle, why they did it, who led them, what they
did, what was the purpose stuff like that.

any info would help

and, i need some first hand accounts of lsd usage. (yes i know there
are other hallucinogens but, this is the most well known so i figgerd
that it would be a good place to start)

change of plans, i'm going to do it over the social impact of lsd on
the nation (i will include the medicenil (sp) uses and the legal
implications) in the 1960's and 1970's

I highly suggest reading, if you haven't yet, Tom Wolfe's The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test. A very fun read and it will answer alot of your questions.

also you should study timothy leary and what become of his studies. also look into jerry garcia and underground culture that was formed around him, the deadheads. the dead tour and other sub-cultures that have formed from it have been behind most of the lsd influence in america. as in being spread, etc. it's a culture that is still alive today that is transiant and the backbone of the lsd movement.

i would recomend you follow the dead tour, the cheese tour, and the various families around for a summer.... you'll learn alot about lsd, the social impacts of it, and the social grass roots of the lsd movement. the hippy conspiracy .....

so there i was sitting in the middle of the forrest, frying on mushrooms, watching literally thousands and thousands of people rush by the path way that my tent was setup next to. sitting in my chair wondering how many of these screaming dancing wide eyes people were fed drugs and told to live free. poor kids not knowing what life was about shuffled by their friends out to this little barter fair in hope to catch a good buzz are not bam stuck right in the middle of a phsychodelic trance of thousands of naked dirty hippies screaming and howling and dancing. "im so confused" i said out of nowhere. getting a glance from a few passerby's as they make their way in the dark towards the sounds of drumming and howling and dancing. "holy shit" i say to my friend who, on the other side of the path way, couldn't hear me. "you wanna fry kid?" said a dark stranger
"WHAT? no no no im cool. im alrady frying. huh? i'm so confused." he kneeled infront of me. "look at this" his face glows blue as i look down to see him shining a black light in viles of acid. "holy shit man." i said trying to look around to grab the attention of my friends nearby. "the dead just arrived at the main camp, and are running through. you wanna fry?" he said again in a very drumesque sort of dancing voice. "im so confused" i thought as i said it outlout. what was going on? could they all be high? my mind was racing with the possibilities that thousands of people could possibly be frying in a small area in the middle of the foreest and the rest of the world doesn't exist. incrediable i thought, and i felt liquid hit my face. "what the fuck?" i wipe my face and feel quickly evaporating but very real wet liquid on my face. on my hands. it tingles. "holy shit." i yell to my friends that were standing 3 feet to the other side the whole time. "that guy has acid." i tell them. "sure" one says. "holy shit i'm so confused. i got sprayed with acid." ....

and then the night gets really weird

i just started the acid test, question just follow them through where
they've been and the stories i hear or, see if i can get to a concert.

true but, i'm doing this as a cross 'tween the doc and wolfe i'm
immersing myself in the culture but also trying to stay away from the
drug it's self (in seeing i'm only 16 i don't know if would be a good
idea but eh)

.... engulf yourself into the culture. go the the next "country faire" or "barter fair" you hear about ... search the internet they're all over all the time. go to the next rainbow family even that you can get to. follow the true dead tour ot the cheeseheads for summer.

it is my opinion that everybody should engulf themselves into the bartering/transient/lsd culture at least for a summer of their lifes.

if nothing else travel the streets up and down the west coast and ask the street kids and transients where the next fair or festival is...
