Smoking - Can't take hits anymore - Lung damage?

SWIM is a regular MJ smoker, he smokes at least two good sized bowls of high quality meds a day. He does this on and off for months at a time (depending on financing). He has been smoking weed for a few years now and is a 20 years old Male.

SWIM has never really had a problem with the harshness of mj before, atleast not like this.

SWIMS problem is, whenever he takes a hit of MJ he gets a strong strong urge to cough his lungs out almost every time, if the hit is medium - large size, not coughing seems almost impossible.

This was never the case before, and it seemed to have started about 3 weeks ago.

He has heard his friends talking about it before, too SWIMs Understanding its a condition that sets in when u smoke large amounts (including cigrettes) and apperently it should also go away in about a month. SWIM isnt even sure if its a real condition. The condition has some slang name around these parts so its hard for swim too really know what hes got, its suppose to be somewhat common.

Does anyone have more info on this please?

Its hard for swim to get high when hes gotta take baby hits.

Could just be smoker's cough, although it could be something much more serious. If I were SWIY I'd probably go to the doctors and get it checked out, it can't hurt and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Maybe SWIY should try smoking joints instead of bongs.

Sounds like smoker's cough alright although it could also be something like a temporary chest infection. SWIM's had a bit of chesty, phlegm cough over the past fortnight too and has had to take it easy with the smokes himself. It's clearing up now so all's good. Best advice: quit cigarettes.

lol what exactly is a smokers cough? SWIM has heard the term many times but thought it was just a flem like sound when u cough... not that it produces a slightly painfull cough opun smoking and weaker lungs.
