Culture - Remember those make your own GHB kits?

I remember a long time ago Hightimes and other such magazines used to have adds for these do it yourself GHB kits.Some were rather comical.They usually had musclebound guys and bikini clad girls talking about this new thing called GHB that made for the ultimate party and the most radical sex.

Are any of these kits still around?Would they have somehow gone bad after all these years?Are these kits part of the reason GHB became scheduled?

No, a rabidly self interested bunch of politicians and single issue groups got GHB scheduled.

Those kits are not likely to be around anymore and anybody who sees one advertised would do well to steer clear as it is more likely a sting operation.

But, theoretically anyway, it is unlikely that any kits gathering dust in a cupboard would have "gone bad". the two components in it would have been GBL and NaOH, and neither suffer from a short shelf life.

Yeah we still get the occasional noob popping up in the forum ranting on about how people are crazy to use GHB what with all that paint stripper and drain cleaner in it !
