Social - Two day music festival. Should SWIM take LSD ?

Hey guys,

SWIMS got a massive weekend coming up, 2 day music festival. SWIMS mate is doing LSD and maybe coke. SWIM would like to try LSD at this festival, It will be his first time. Is this a good idea ?

Does LSD deplete serotonin like E ? This is why SWIM would prefer to stay away from E. IF SWIM doesnt take LSD he will be taking E's, but has heard that taking 2days in a row, that the second day has almost nill effects.

P.s have used E on numerous occasions, but not in the past 6 months

SWIM is of the opinion this is not a good setting for a first time user.

Indeed. A festival can lead to the strangest and also the most unwanted events, while under the influence of a psychedelic like lsd. That would only be advisable if one is already experienced and knows how to navigate a psychedelic experience through normal and difficult situations.
Ecstasy seems the way to go, though 2 days of XTC is pretty stupid.

Two day music festivals are tough to choose which substances to indulge upon. For the first time, the last place swim would like to be is with a bunch of people when taking LSD. Swim has noticed that when at festivals, a great feeling is when the person next to you has taken the same drug as you and you are feeling the same way. Swim would pick a day, preferably the last day, and pop xtc with his friend. The last day because if you pop the first day, depending on who you are, you may not feel too great.

No one ever spent lord knows how long in a tent, alternating between crazy out of body experiences with a lot of limb failing and moments of lucidity freaking out that someone might come in and misinterpret the situation. That would have been bad.

What happens if the location isn't right and you need to get out? If the venue is a mile or two from home, this might not be an issue, if there's driving though...

How many people would know you? Out of how many? If there is something wrong and your surrounded by strangers, how will you deal with that? Mentioned above, no one knew nobody had Tourettes and that nobody flopping around was a regular and benign occurrence.

Of course it could also be a total blast if your with a large family and in a safe place.

When SWIM suggested doing LSD the first night and E the second night, SWIM didn't knew that your dog hadn't tried LSD before. It would be unwise as they said previously to try LSD at festival. SWIM's first time with LSD was at a rave, he didn't freaked out until the end of the party (he left alone, leaving his friends behind), but those 3 last hours of the trip(until he fell asleep at his home) were the worst hours of his life. SWIM whishes someone had told him what could happen, or had done some research before. Now SWIM has a lot of respect for acid.

How about mushrooms?A far more gentle and easier transition to the world of psychedellics than lsd.Sure lsd was swim's first psychedellic but swim was in the safety and comfort of his own home not at some crazy music festival.However swim did go to Barnes and Nobles later the next day when he was still tripping and it was a pretty interesting experience.That is swim though,swim was a little "off"in the first place and better able to deal with psychedellics than most.Swim just doesn't even want to imagine all the crazy misadventures someone tripping for the first time in public could get in.

Two days of ecstasy just doesn't seem like a sound plan either.Swim could be wrong but psilocybin sounds like the way to go.

I would definately advise against shrooms at a festival/party. In SWIM's experience, shrooms make everything extremely chaotic. It's like instant autism for 5 hours. That might be fun when you are in/around your house or in a forest for instance, but you don't want to have that with hundreds op people around you.

SWIM has no experience with LSD, but from all he read and heard, 50ug of LSD would be a nice dose for a first-timer at a festival. Do not exceed the dose of 50ug.

Btw, what kind of festival are we talking about? It would be safer to take LSD at a goa party, because you'll always have tons of triphippies to help you if you're really going bad. I would advise against it if it's a festival where tripping isn't really that 'normal'.

Do consider what sort of daytime activities are planned for the second day. The place nobody went and had such a crazy first night was a tiny farm in the middle of nowhere with nothing planned all day but sitting in the grass and staring. As much as nobody wanted to stay and dance the second night, the lack of entertainment after an exhausting night made for a dull morning and calling for a ride home before long. It might be worth laying low the first night and going harder the second.

SWIM would take the lsd at a festival. Shit there are things that con go wrong but its the same everywhere. At least at a festival there are tons of other people tripping face so you will probably be in good company. SWIM can see many good things coming from the experience but its all up to SWIYou to decide what is best.

due to the death of the good chemist or perhaps other etherial happenstance, these summer festivals seem to be absolutely spewing with high high dose LSD.

there is so much variance in dose and set & setting that this would seem to lend itself to a bad reaction. LSD is nothing like ecstasy; especially at truly truly cosmic doses, and these are definitely floating around in the form of single hits.

This just screams "bad idea" to me. For a first timer de-personalization, re-birth, blinding white light and scorching paranoia pummeling you while the mass of your ideas, sights, sounds, smells, the moon, mars, and visions from the future transform before your eyes in kaleidoscopic nonsense whilest you are surrounded by thousands of strangers who "feel like they're part of you" for 12 or so hours would be like a trip to hell and back; I don't care how stable SWIY is.

SWIM would just as well suggest that SWIY stick his brains in a light socket and flip the switch before he would ever suggest that SWIY take an unknown dose of unknown purity in an unknown setting full of unknown people with undefined expectations of a world unknown to him.
