opium from young plants?

So, SWIM has got a bunch of 1 month old poppy plants. The plants are crammed together and need to be thinned out pretty bad. Swim was wondering if he could extract the latex from the young plants and make an opium like substance worthy of consumption. The plants are 2 to 3 inches or 6 cm tall... He has already treid it with 60 or so plants. The affects of the end product were noticable but weak. But SWIM doesn't want to give up. Does any one have any ideas, experience, or methods regarding this type of thing?.....

Re: opium from young plants?

If there was anything to them, SWIM's been told the roots are where it's at. That's a problem because you'd want to wash those, or you'll wind up with muddy water, which is a bummer. SWIM's also been told that an iceolation can help get rid of the bad plant matter. Probably more trouble than it's worth is the conclusion SWIM came to.

Re: opium from young plants?

SG brings it up in both the "making morphine the easy way" and in the CFO tek.

It might waste some, but it's like freezing a capri-sun or something. All the syrup comes out first then the rest is just ice with a faint trace of the rest.

Filtering all that plant material can be a PITA. Also, iceolation catches fats and other things that can slip through a filter when using hot water. For those reasons, SWIM is under the impression that it's the preferred pre-filter method with abundant fresh plant matter, but SWIM doesn't know it all, that's for sure.

Re: opium from young plants?

Yeah, thanks for the imput: SWIM is gonna use this method forsure. So the ice basically pushes the good stuff to the top. SWIM cant grasp why the good stuff would be primarily pushed to the top though instead of just getting caught equally w/ the fats and others.. SWIM doesnt doubt that it works. SWIM just likes to know how it works.... SWIM gonna look around for that right now.... didnt the guy who discover post it on poppies.org... was he the first person to figure this out?...

Re: opium from young plants?

SWIM thinks it's club opium or something like that.

The M and C and other happy plant products are in solution, meaning they have dissolved in the water. The fats, oils, and greenery is in suspension, meaning they just hang out.

The goodies remain in the water, meanwhile the unwanted stuffs will either be trapped in the ice, solidify in the cold, or travel on into the final product. That's the way it happens in SWIMs head at least.

Re: opium from young plants?

OOOOHH... so its like if someone froze some salt water 1/2 way.... The ice would not be too salty... and the water would be really salty and have way more salt in it... Right?...?
