Would it be possible to get a medication taken off the market?
Swim has stopped taking suboxone and his quality of life has went way up.No more constant headaches, fatigue, nausea. The same goes for alot of swims friends. We are all thinking of reporting these side effects to the fda.Not to mention this shit has been shown to cause cytolytic hepatitis.Swim and his friends plan to try and get it removed.Swim also urges anyone on suboxone to demand to be switched to subutex or go to a methadone clinic.
This stuff is completely unnatural and worse than any opiate its made to cure dependency to.Swim thinks it is a scam. That the naloxone is an unneccessary chemical with unneccessary risks.Would it be possible if enough people were getting sick to have it removed?Swim also plans on telling his moneygrubbing, lying doctor what he thinks about him and what he thinks about suboxone.Swims doctor never informed him of the risks of hepatitis and never once suggested a liver enzyme test which he finds irresponsible. |

Re: Would it be possible to get a medication taken off the market?
SWIM assumes that these things are already known by the choir you would be preaching too. I wouldn't be surprised if anything short of a class action suit would do the job, but I don't doubt the negative impact the drug has so something, anything could be worth a shot. SWIM didn't know about it causing hepatitis, that's scary.

Re: Would it be possible to get a medication taken off the market?
Swim also experienced almost constant depression when he took it.And depression along with pounding headaches all day, everyday is a very bad thing. It got to the point where swim actually thought that it would almost be better to be dead. This isn't uncommon either. Many of swims friends have experienced this.Swim needs to know how to do everything he can to get this so called "miracle cure"taken away so it can't hurt anymore swim's.Methadone might get a bad rep but atleast if swiy is going to be on maintenance they might aswell feel good sometimes instead of being in utter misery.

Re: Would it be possible to get a medication taken off the market?
I think the common thought process of people who don't use drugs is that overcoming addiction is supposed to be painful and difficult, it's not supposed to be happy. If you could somehow prove it induces medical depression, that would probably be a start, but if not then I'm sure you'd be hit with the "It won't ever be easy" line.

Re: Would it be possible to get a medication taken off the market?
The whole attitude that addicts deserve to be in pain angers swim like nothing else.Sometimes swim just wants to punch his smug doctor in the face lol.Anyone thats experienced persistant migraines knows that these things severely detract from a persons quality of life.Because swim is an addict does he deserve this?Swim doesn't think so.

Actually, SWIM is medicated for cluster headaches so if you are familiar with those you will know that SWIM feels for your pain. They are a horrible thing and no one deserves to have them.

Agreed cluster headaches, migraines, and sinus headaches are a nightmare. The headaches suboxone cause feel like a combination of a migraine and severe sinus headache.Swim remembers the second day he took suboxone he was sooo sick, the sickest he's ever been possibly.

Re: Would it be possible to get a medication taken off the market?
When swim used to take suboxone in high doses via snorting it (about5-6mg ~ which was alot for swim at the time, when she was getting off a smal habit) , she'd have major headaches mostly and some feelings of nausea. This is 1st she has heard of other ppl/swimmers having the same effects..

Re: Would it be possible to get a medication taken off the market?
Subutex does NOT contain an antagonist which is where many of the problems of suboxone come from. If any patients are having problems with suboxone, get swithed to subtutex. Lobby your current physician/congressman/senator/state rep with well thought out, well-written research including the science of it, anecdotal reports, and maybe, just maybe, a second glance will be taken at suboxone. Subutex is a much better alternative.

They are a tough demon to fight and can really do whatever the fuck they want. They have most of our politicians in their pockets. Last edited by y0ssarianlives; 15-06-2008 at 06:36.
