Primatene Mist - Epinephrine

Primatene Mist is an Epinephrine Inhalation Aerosol Bronchodilator which is sold OTC. It is an inhaler usually used for asthma. The FDA is considering its ban

[top]Will Primatene Mist Be Taken Off the Shelves?

If you're one of the 3 million Americans who use Primatene Mist to manage your asthma, you may have to look for an alternative. The Pulmonary-Allergy Drugs Advisory Committee voted 11 to 7 in favor of removing Primatene Mist from drugstore shelves because of the harmful chemical it contains.
Each "hit" contains .22mg's of epinephrine... and swim thought,"woah epinepharine is basically adrenaline created synthetically. Could I trip on it?"

Re: Primatene Mist - Epinephrine

No, you canīt trip on it, the best kick it can give you is a heartattack. Donßt know, if thatīs what your looking for, if so, go ahaed.

(Swim has a 50ml multi vial of 1:10.000 Epinephrine in his fridge)

Re: Primatene Mist - Epinephrine

SWIM here has just recently started using it to control his mild asthma and freakin loves it. That would really suck if they took it off the market since it works so unbelievably well.

The most SWIY might be able to get from using this stuff recreationally is a small rush of energy for a minute or two, definately not worth the cost and the side effects. Prolonged use of Primatene will probably do some damage to your heart. SWIM says that when he uses it for his asthma he can feel his heart rate increase, and it feels like something is putting pressure on it. He's no expert on this stuff but he knows enough to tell you that it'll offer little to no recreational value, and even if it did, the price you'd pay for it would definately not be worth it.

Re: Primatene Mist - Epinephrine

It has no recreational value whatsoever, it doesnīt pass the BBB, nor does it do anything with your mind and consciousness.

If you inject it, you will feel the "pressure" on your heart 10x that strong, on sweating you will have such soft knees, as if youīd just saved your live from immediate danger but without mental excitation. And all the time being more-or-less afraid of having a heart attack and maybe dying.

Beside that itīs not pleasant, the action only lasts as long as 2-5 minutes, as mentioned it, then itīs just a little cold feeling and bronchodilatation and a numbing of all emotions. Youīre then just kinda cold, numb and dull.

Iīve never used it as an inhalant, just as injections, so the former usage is just a topical effect of epinephrine on the respiratory system with some systemic alpha adrenergic sides as itīs being absorbed by the alvaeoli into the bloodstream in minute amounts.

And even beside all this, amphetamines are the way better treatment for asthma as itīs safer, longer lasting, more predictable and just as -if not even more efficient and fun. And saver... and cheaper...

This is a myth from Hunter Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Epinephrine is also combined with lignocaine (also not psychoactive), used as a local anaesthetic.

Re: Primatene Mist - Epinephrine

Basically, it's adrenalin. Didn't know it was used to counter allergies. Interesting.
