Paraphernalia - Help With Salvia Pipe (Glass)

SWIM has just bought a salvia starter pack after a recommendation from a friend. SWIM got the pack recently and is pretty baffled by the pipe as he has never really smoked before. He showed SWIM this picture (bottom)

SWIM thinks he has to put the Salvia into the bowl shaped but but then doesn't know where the gauze goes as it doesnt really fit anywhere. SMIM heard that there was a cheap bong in town so he was wondering if he should just get that instead.

SWIM would appreciate some help and any other tips from SWIY and thanks them in advance

salvia isnt the smoothest smoke in the world, and as there isnt any water cooling chambers on that it will probably hurt your throat a bit, personaly id go and buy a bong heh.

But for the record, just squash the gauze down til it fits snuggly, it doesnt matter if you bend it a bit
Put the salvia in the bowl. Swiy put the end furthest away from the bowl in their mouth and cover the other end with their hand.
Light + inhale with the hand still blocking the end of the tube, then when swiy wants to clear all the smoke, remove the hand allowing air to rush in along with all the smoke

yea, swim would just get the bong. so much better. and if you've never smoked in general before, get some good weed before trying to enter salvia land. just because it might be legal doesnt mean it's going to be weak

Hah, my dog never smoked anything before trying salvia.

With a tiny bong with a wee bit of water was fine on the throat (but bad taste afterwards).

As for strong, yeah he was blown away but I dunno if weed experience would've helped at all.
