Did MDMA do this to me?

I'm not really good at English but I'll try my best. Here's my story:

I decided to move to a diff country somewhere in Asia. Met some new people.

I was introduced to E; was doing 1/4 [pink disney(?)twin hearts] on three consecutive nights. After that, I was dropping every week (3 times on average)

After a month I've noticed I started to pay less attention on the high and be more aware of my surroundings (ie try to suppress the effects of the drug). Because of that, I slowly started to realize the new friends Ive made were talking badly behind me. I was completely hurt but I ignored it and this went on for a few weeks.

After that, I noticed I developed aspergers syndrome (WTF), paranoid psychosis, and my eyes seems like they are still slightly dilated. I'm hearing whispers of ppl talking badly about me but I'm not even sure if its really happening when I'm all alone in the room. I've become unable to trust ppl even the ones I love. I cant even look straight at ppl's eyes anymore. I feel awkward. I hated being social and when all attention gets focused in my direction, I begin to sweat profusely even when its rly cold.

How could this happen? I've only been doing MDMA for prob 3 months. Was I traumatized by experiences of overhearing friends talking shit about me under the influence?

How would I go about getting my old self back? Ive quit the drug for 2 months now and I have no confidence anymore (even though not to be vain, I get hit on alot so I think I'm not a bad looking guy), my eyes still look crazy like, I have problems interacting with ppl. So bad that I think they think Im a drug addict even when I stopped using. Now Its rly hard for me to do tasks that I would not even worry about back then. Like going outside without being obssessive over whether people around me are talking about me or suspect I'm doing drugs. There has been several occassions I've actually heard people mock, but any normal person would just shrug this off or even better confront. I'm unable to do so instead just keeping it inside me.

Note - I noticed when taking E, I dont completely get affected by it but the after effects of the drug lasts for weeks. (depression, anxiety, Ocd-like behaviour) Also, since I was new to taking the drug, I was taking Valiums for sleep aid.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

First off, there is no "I" in drugs forum, read the rules.

did a doctor diagnose Aspergers?

What likely did that to you is the high content of Methamphetamine and other adulterants in most pressed MDMA. Methamphetamine causes "stimulant psycosis" with extended use, such as the sensation that others are talking behind your back, and other paranoias. Cessation of the use of almost any stimulant after a longer period of use will result in lethargy and less than positive moods.

Valium or Diazepam, is a benzodiazepine. Benzodiazepines are physically addictive and after any (even relatively short in SWIM's experience) period of use, psysical and psychological withdrawl can be expected. This withdrawl includes anxiety and mood swings/depression.

Its hard to say that MDMA caused your problem, but what you're experiencing is not particularly uncommon. Ecstacy is a strong drug which is not well regulated and hardly safe. If SWIY wants to return to normal the best route is proper diet along with a detox from other substances. Exercise works wonders on most withdrawl/drug fallout.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

It sounds like your friend has reached the point of tolerance to MDMA so very weak initial effects are felt but very long and extended comedown effects are felt.

This happens when someone ingests MDMA repeatedly, too frequently. Psychological effects can be felt months afterwards and only worsen with more use of MDMA. The best way to start feeling better is abstinence from MDMA. Eventually time will heal everything. The best way to go forward is to realize that any possible damage has already been done and that the only thing that can happen now is that you can get better. You will need to call yourself out when thinking paranoid thoughts and recognize them for what they are and not let them dominate your emotions. Taking up a practice like meditation would probably be beneficial, there's a lot of anxiety stemming from this and concentrating on yourself and relaxing would probably help.

Not really a helpful post. I'm not taking any points though because you do make many good posts.

your friends situation sounds unfortunate, however with abstinence from drugs and good diet and exercise, your friends mental health has a good chance of improving.

Yes. Quitting, at least temporarily is the way to go. A lot of it is all in the head. SWIY can easily improve things around you. This is the way I see it, if SWIY is a good person, who cares what others around you have to say.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

Are you even sure swiys friends were talking behind his back to start with?
I think that, swiy hearing his friends were the first syndromes (if swiy truely has got aspergers), and swiys friends are being put through some unjustifyed statements here. Iīm positive that swiys friends didnīt talk badly behind swiys back, and hopefully without sounding to harsh on swiy: SNAP OUT OF IT!
Inho, regular exersice and a proper diet would be the way, itīs likely to increase swiys metabolism and thus help him recover faster. My little monkey got rid of the thc stored after a 2month period of everyday smoking in 11 days that way.

I sincerely hope swiy get better soon. Cheer up.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

This is a proper case of amphetamine-psychosis. I have no idea how much the monkey was ingesting - or what it was ingesting - but this is amphetamine-psychosis. Drugs are right out for the monkey. More will make it worse and longer. Monkey: Knock it off. Eat well. Sleep well. Take vitamins. And apologize to your friends - if you accused them.

MDMA didn't do this to the monkey. The monkey did. And it requires large quantities of an amphetamine for an extended period of time to create this reaction. I sincerely doubt MDMA was the only substance on board. If at all.

By the by - Aspergers Syndrome is a form of autism. It isn't "caused" by any drug. It is inborn. Here - have a link:

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

Someone I know had these effects from a single strong dose, tested later as amphetamine (speed) and MDMA. It lasted for many months at the 'intollerable' level, but slowly subsided. If this has happened to someone you know, tell them to take no more drugs for at least a year. Someone I know tried dropping 6 months later and it set them back another year. Does this person you talk of feel really 'flat' both emotionally and physcially? Trouble sleeping and eating properly? Just plain awkward doing EVERYTHING? It's ok, it gets better but it takes a lot of healthy eating and sleeping over a long period. The person you know may be able to drop again one day but certainly not for a couple of years. Don't let them risk making the ailment a permanent fixture. Someone I know feels better than he ever has but it was a slow road to improvement. If you research these forums and google you'll find many people with similar symptoms after single and multiple doses. Some people in the states call it being 'E-tarded' though I haven't found a proper name for the condition yet. MDMA is not a toy and there's just no way to tell how it will react with a person until they ingest. It sounds like your friend took far too many too quickly, which he would know not to do if he'd done his homework beforehand. My friend just takes 1 pill once every 6 months or so at big events and has an absolute blast =)

Also, for the posters saying amphetamine pyschosis, are you aware of the strong and sustained doses required to trigger psychosis in a healthy individual? Almost all amphetamine-induced psychoses are related to long-term 'meth' use. The sorts of doses of methamphetamine that can be administered - oral and stomach HCl degredation notwithstanding - in a pill is negligable. I'm surprised some of you jumped to that ahead of other more likely disorders such as pre-existent depression. An otherwise healthy individual with lower than average serotonin receptors and terminals can be greatly affected by even a single strong dose of MDMA.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

Wow!

Swim found someone else who's describing the exact feelings Swim has had, to the point of cutting off the majority of contact with any of swims friends for feelings that they're talking behind his back and acting against him.

Even though swim is aware it's not paranoia, swim was not noticing before and has to be said, ignorance truly is bliss.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

SWIM's been there, and unfortunatly is kind of back there now. All I can say is to back up everyone's advice and just don't do any drugs for as long as possible. Don't be tempted to or you'll just have to repeat the cycle and waste more of your life. You'll feel back to normal soon enough, don't worry.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

I feel for you, mate. When I was younger I had a bit of a "funny turn" after one to many raves. As long as you stay clean it'll all get better with time. Also, get into a physical exercise routine. It sounds like bullshit, and I wouldn't say it unless it'd actually helped me, but when the blues strike go for a run, get on a bike, do some weights, etc.

Remember: you won't always feel like this.

Has SWIY ever suffered from depression and anxiety before? It's unlikely MDMA and/ or valium could do this to anyone unless they were taking them in large quantities. Anyway, it sounds like SWIY should steer clear of drugs.

Re: Did MDMA do this to me?

Yea, that person may have some light paranoia but they'll still retain their reasoning capabilities so they can slap themselves out of it when they need to

Everything, from coordination to memory problems clear up in time but it's very slow. Someone found exercise the most beneficial. There are all sorts of anecdotal studies to suggest the increased bloodflow and hence oxygen repair brain matter (neurons and connections) more quickly. They're still taking omega fish oils and a multi vitamin. Even to this day they can't handle hangovers or lack of sleep like they used to. It was a good wake up call though and as I've said before, if eating, sleeping and exercising right is the worst that happens to them then they've nothing to worry about =)
