Re: Drugs that don't destroy brain cells

no commonly used psychoactove drug 'destoys' brain cells if used recreationally. even alcohol (one of the worst drugs) commonly wont destroy brain cells, to swims knowledge it only occurs in hardened alcoholics.

Re: Drugs that don't destroy brain cells

Well 'destroying' brain cells is not necessarily the same as causing grvious damage to your brain. Ketamine, DXM (although this is only suspected in humans not proven), Nitrous Oxide and even alcohol can all cause Olney's Lesions, a form of brain damage.

Re: Drugs that don't destroy brain cells

Well I think we need to get over this concept of destroy. It really does not mean anything. Sometimes different drugs can alter the function of brain cells. Change the gates of the cell and receptors. Alter the function. For example we know that there are sometimes pretty permanant changes that must occour in HPPD after psychedelics. Now they will say that these are neurochemical changes. But neurochemical changes have thor root in structural dysfunction. In otherwords a person can have a leg that is crippled and dysfunctional but the leg is not destroyed or dead.

Re: Drugs that don't destroy brain cells

Moderate daily alcohol use has in some studies exhibited anti-neurodegenerative properties as it kills off brain cells vulnerable to Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease -- basically like clearing cobwebs from the corners of your mind.

Re: Drugs that don't destroy brain cells

swim would recommend aphetamine , it's a well known fact that amp increases one's IQ.
beeing careful about your dosing and with the right supplements , even if you get hooked , the story is likely to have a happy ending. of course usually if psychosis kicks in you;re pretty much doomed :P

Re: Drugs that don't destroy brain cells

Scientists in Belgium ( read it in a Belgium newspaper anyway ) have proven that THC actually makes new braincells.
They are working on a medicen cointaining THC for dementia.

Re: Drugs that don't destroy brain cells

It is impossible for any person to definitively and unequivocally assert (accurately) that a psychotropic does not produce long-term damage to the central nervous system. We can present you only with drugs that have not been shown to produce brain damage, and a lack of evidence does not constitute a lack of damage.

All psychotropics will at least temporarily alter the functioning of the central nervous system, and it should be assumed that there are inherent risks associated with the use of most.
