About a month ago, news of a miraculous food additive swept across my nation (or well, it was covered by a TV show and was shown in the news once). It's called Nitro FX, it's an extract from a plant that grows in the SE Asia region that's called the Noni plant (or
Morinda Citrifolia).
The coverage on the TV show was basically an interview with 2 women, who seemed to think that this drug was a manifestation of God's good will, or even the return of the Messiah if you will. It was 'that' good. They described all the pain they were in before starting to use Nitro FX and how they're 100% painfree and 200% happier after starting to use it.
The product is banned by the EU, so it's not exactly on the market. But people get it by means of a so-called distribution chain. There's one guy who brings in a whole truck-load of this stuff, sells it to 10 people, who in turn sell it to 10 people and so on.
Nitro FX
The site briefly describes what this concoction is about. The whole site is littered with logic flaws and loopholes imo, though I'm no expert. Brainwashing 65-year-old housewives at its best if you ask me...
It is said that the effects of the Noni plant resemble 'the nitric oxide (NO) effect' and after that the whole article is built up on nitric oxide.
After a quick browse on wikipedia for this plant (
Noni wikipedia) I concluded that other than a hefty dose of Vitamin C, all these people are drinking is carbs and dietary fiber? Which I'm not even sure can be contained as a liquid solution.
Anyway, a healthy diet is 'always' better than taking food additives and almost any fruit/vegetable will have Vitamin C.
Nitro FX claims to:
Quote:
- Helps maintain healthy immune system function.
- Assists in helping maintain proper joint mobility.
- May assist in maintaining normal blood sugar levels.
- Contains potent antioxidants that act as free radical scavengers.
- Helps maintain cholesterol levels that are already within normal range.
- May assist in promoting healthy sexual function.
- Helps maintain healthy lung function.
- Helps improve mental acuity.

After a quick browse through the 2 provided links, can it really be that this is as good as it's hyped up to be? Or is there actually a good reason for disallowing this on the EU market and are those 60-something women experiencing a powerful case of placebo?
Don't even know why I'm so concerned about this lol. But if anyone smarter than myself is a bit bored and wants to review this, I'd appreciate a second opinion.
