Drug info - difference between ecstasy and XTC?

SWIM was wondering the diff.. he noticed the 2 sub forums, with herbal XTC, and then ecstasy. he wants to know the diff between the two, and if they have the same effects?

XTC, Ecstacy, MDMA - used to be synonymous: They meant MDMA. 3,4-Methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine Hydrochloride. This is no longer the case.

As an illegal drug, MDMA has no legal constraints regarding the actual composition of what is in a tablet claimed to be any-of-the-above. "Herbal Ecstacy" is probably the worst offender. There have been cases of this actually containing DXM and ephedrine - a good recipe for a heart-attack. Pills called XTC or ecstasy may contain MDMA - and a hodgepodge of other chemicals ranging from MDA to methamphetamine. Once in awhile (and once is more than enough) it could be PMA - and kill the user.

Do they have the same effects? NO.

Change the laws would be the best solution. Until then - a SWIM would be best advised to find crystal MDMA from a reputable person.
