Logo's on pills?
Why do the people that make pills bother to put logo's on their pills?
And is it just like geeky chemistry student people that synthesize the pills? I was just thinkin' this the other day, the ILLEGAL pills SWIM had looked more proffesional than famous LEGAL drug companies!! |

Re: Logo's on pills?
It's just like any other product, a distinctive appearance/logo is good marketing and sales are higher. Just like how Adidas or Nike have distinctive logos that everyone recognises, logos on pills are a way of distinguishing brands so that the manufacturer hopes that for example their pills with a loveheart on get a good reputation and people tell their friends, leading to more sales. Not sure what kind of people synthesise them though, have wondered the same thing myself sometimes.

Re: Logo's on pills?
As a part-time geeky chemist, I assure you that those who make these things are profiteers - not real chemists. Real chemists tend to laugh in the face of work offers from some miniature version of the Mafia. Making the same thing day-in, day-out presents no challenge and/or room for expansion/real science. Rather like a gourmet chef v. a pimply-faced burger-flipper at a McDonalds.

Re: Logo's on pills?
Those logos also clearly distingiush XTC from regular medicine, thus dealers wont be as likely to sell you aspirin since you expect mercedes, mitsubishi, smiley or dolphin...

It is all for marketing. In the area where swib is from a good batch will come from one source with a certain print/raise. (example a mercedes symbol) Word gets around if they are good and more people do buy them if they are. a bad side to that is after awhile different batches with the same print that contain little to know MDMA or who knws what any more will start apear. One can usally tell the differnce between the presses if they have seen the good ones. But to an unknow person who see a mercedes sybol might get ripped off because of marketing. A good reason to know your dealer and not just ask around which sybols are the good ones and buy that print Last edited by bman1; 10-06-2008 at 00:26. |

Mmm all sound like spot on answers.
Being a life-long cynic, I'd tend to think it's more of a marketing tool than anything else. |

Re: Logo's on pills?
SwiM's panda also thinks that it is marketing. She also thinks that it helps to sort out the shit from the goodies - she knows that she would not be likely to trust a pill without a logo. If a bee is willing to take the extra step to press the pills, she is also more likely to take extra precautionary steps in its manufacture to make a high quality product, as well as less likely to sell meth bombs or aspirin.
Because people can say 'hey these orange apples are good' or 'oh those purple kappas are shitty', others know whether they are getting decent deals or whatnot. It means that high quality work pays off for them in the long run

Re: Logo's on pills?
grrenport: it also means that if there are some pure mdma good stuff blue rolex out there, the likeyhood that some guy will press a boat of caffeine blue rolex is high. That will let him sell his cheap junk easily.
So the whole logo buissness as indication of quality is quite inaccurate. |

Re: Logo's on pills?
Its all in the mind. Everytime SWIM drops a white mercedes he thinks he is P Diddy and everytime he takes a blue naked lady he feels like crossdressing
