Smoking - Salvia: My first time. Looking for opinions.

Hi,
Having researched into Salvia several years ago SWIM decided to give it a try.

SWIM's setup:
15x Salvia extract.
Jet lighter
Small glass bong

So, SWIM decided to try it alone, in a nice relaxed environment. As SWIM has never smoked before, not even cigarettes, the smoke was harsh on SWIM's lungs. After the first drag SWIM coughed and around half of the inhaled smoke came out. Not to worry, as 30seconds later SWIM felt the effects coming on through small tugs on the body, a further 10seconds later SWIM started to laugh uncontrollably. So SWIM tried again a few mins later, this time SWIM had a great feeling of someone else trying to pull and entice SWIM into another realm, SWIM wanted to go but never made it, SWIM's coughing and general unease at the situation caused SWIM to return to normality. A further 10mins later SWIM tried again, and once more almost made it 'to the other side', SWIM thought he was inside his mind looking at what appeared to be a lollypop lady. Everytime SWIM senses other people, possibly even other entities, but SWIM can't make it through. SWIM tried again, a few hours later and very little happened. SWIM still has difficulty with inhaling the smoke. Each time SWIM has (tried to) smoked around 0.1g. I do however get the munchies

So, the reason I'm here is to find out if there's anything SWIM can do in order to help him go further. Do you think it will come in time, as SWIM practices and adjusts to what's needed?

For smoking Salvia, the goal is to take as big a hit as possible, so swiy may have to pratice a little bit. One can also take smaller, multiple hits in succession untill he loses the ability to hold onto his pipe. Each hit would be held for 20 seconds still though.

you might not be using enough. pack out the entire bowl so you dont cut yourself short

Trouble is, the more SWIM has the SWIM feels the need to cough (yeah, I know, SWIM is a bit of a wuss)

the other possibility is to go for a higher extract. Since swiy needs to inhale a smaller amount. if swiy used 30x he could presumably use 50mg instead of 100...

SWIM has found if one cannot hold the right amount of smoke, just to break it down into more than one hit, reloading the bong while holding in the previous hit.
