Why do people "cook" pills or even heroin?

Hello

SWIM had a dream in which a booming voice asked the question, "Why do people apply a lighter to a water solution of dissolved pills? Or even heroin?"

Heroin SWIM can understand as it might cook out some impurities but pills? Wouldnt that just cause the wax or fillers to expand or burn or coagulate and become even more dangerous?

And since opiates are very soluble in cold water wouldn't heating the water just burn off some of the material?

Pretty confused... SWIM had a dream in which pills were never cooked and worked just fine

Re: Why do people "cook" pills or even heroin?

If Swiy doesn't understand why one would be inclined to use psychoactive compounds they won't or can't be able to understand the man of today, yesterday, or tomorrow. One's own synthesis of these compounds is empowerment of that which has been removed of everyone through the implementation of prohibition. It makes this timeless tradition something safe and controllable (to the extent Swiy/m desires) where prohibition only degrades those.

Edit: Rant something only somewhat related. Heating increases a solvents ability to dissolve solids.

Addition: The solution will only get as hot as the solvent, the boiling point of water is not something that will deteriorate any psychoactive compound's structure that Swibf is aware of. Also reducing excess h2o is common practice in all extraction/purification related chemistry no matter the drug relation or not.
