Social - does everyone in the USA use cocaine ?

Just so you know, I'm not a drugs user, never have been, and never plan to be. I know you all probably hate us straight-edge guys, but give me a chance.

I feel this is the place to ask - does everybody use cocaine? From reading here it really does seem that there is a massive group of people who use it - does the vast majority of the country really use it? What are the chances of, say, when I'm pursuing a long term relationship, of managing to grab somebody who doesn't use cocaine?

You are young and mislead. Not every person does a certain activity or enjoy a certain drug. It all depends on the social circumstances if there is a large % of local people that enjoy cocaine.

Current cocaine users are most likely a relatively small minority of the population. Nowhere near a majority. But I guess it depends on what kind of circles you frequent.

I'm a sort of upper class guy - I'm smart, hang around with smart people and the like. Geeky, if you want (except, I'm not.) But I wouldn't think that would make much of a difference?

In case you have been told that the world largely consists of druggies who can't wait to peer-pressure you into getting hooked, relax. There are more "straight-edge" people out there than you think. Reading some statistics about drug use (usually available by googling government websites) may give you a more realistic picture.

Yeah, I can see why you wouldn't want to ever meet a person who has tried cocaine. They're generally very evil people, known to reside in sewers, who can't wait to steal from you to get their next fix.

I don't believe anyone can predict what happens tomorrow. Once upon a time swim said she wouldn't be a pathetic drug addict like mom, guess what, probably worse. Good luck finding the perfect person. I really mean that one. Coke, meth, heroine, yep it is all out there obviously. Swim just can't find the right words sorry.

From what you've told us, I find it funny that you would ask such a question. You can't be over 18 asking a question like this. From your description I think people who do cocaine will avoid you plenty without you trying to discourage them

Just incase ( no emotion in text) that was taken harshly or rude the truth is you don't even have to worry about finding someone who does cocaine, believe it or not most people don't.

Oh and for the record, I've never done cocaine, nor plan on it.

I'm not talking about over 100 years ago when the dangers and other negative factors associated with cocaine were widely (if at all) known. I meant GPs who are fairly sucessful, and are well aware of the dangers of cocaine. They still enjoy it perhaps instead of a glass of wine. What I was getting at was that not every cocaine user (and probably a very small percentage of users) is/are some kind of demonic addict.

Sure, in the UK it has been implied that many doctors use quite a lot of alcohol also.

SWIM thinks that there are evils attached to anything that becomes all consuming.

Any drug that becomes obsessional can mean there are underlying issues that create the craving or addiction.

It is usually escapism - (from the perspective of the user) and sometimes addiction implies that the recreation and social context has been overtaken.

Not everyone sells thier soul to cocaine, some use it responsibily and some do not and no, SWIM doesn't think that EVERYBODY abuses cocaine.

When they do, in excess, cocaine abuses them (physical health issues/maintaining a healthy relationship/psychological reasoning) - and there are other signs, highlighted and apparent by their lifestyle. It shouldn't be hard to spot an ardent user! There are clues! Gut instinct stuff.

From SWIM's experience when one partner uses and the other does not, it's the parting of a relationship - and certainly not the beginning.

This is just a forum where like find like (or maybe not!), great for info and 10/10 for taking the time to research.

Doubtful if you willl find ANY cocaine users on a Christian site (for example) so don't woory that the world is full of cocaine users,...

I failed to see that the user was 15, theres still alot of maturing to do and some of the questions you are asking will be answered as maturity sets in and you begin to learn more about the world, for now go to school and don't worry about things like that until the time is came. Your not looking to get married at 15 anyway.

I am laughing inside, I have been around the block some too many times to count, and yet I am smart , honest, with a good moral character.

I know tons of people and guess what ? they arent on coke or meth or heroin, or ______ " fill in the blank" .

some do smoke marijuana but most do not. the druggies are out there but usually you have to seek them out or go into an area and look like a target to get their attention.

Kinda sounds like you have listen to too many news casters and bought into their headlines. sure they broadcast the news but it only the bad stories , while ommiting the majority of topics that are about people who live by the right code of values.

My humble advice is this, don't go into the world afraid of the people , no body is perfect , even you and your pals , just because you may not use, I will bet there are some defects in your character, just in a different way.

dont be too judgemental, as I have had to find out , it can come back to haunt you. soon the shoe finds its way to the other foot.

No everybody does not use cocaine regularly but most people swim knows including swim will do it if it is around.

If swiy lives in Southern California and is going after a young and attractive girl, chances are she either has or had a coke problem. If she is a sorority girl, forget it, sororities and coke go together like rum and Coke. Hey, at least it's not meth!

Swim is kind of kidding, statistically very few people use coke. Swim just feels that a lot of people use coke because where he lives and who he is around.

Coke is higly overrated.Swim doesn't see how people get so much into it.Swim did it for about a month straight and afterwards wasn't a fiend for it,didn't feel he needed it,and wouldn't go out of his way to get it.

A Nonny Mouse, you'd be surprised how many "upper class" people use cocaine. If you ever end up going to an Ivy League college, you will learn first hand. Most of SWIM's "upper class" friends at SWIM's vy League university do plenty of coke, because most of these people are assholes with too much money. SWIM's "upper class" friends from home also do oodles of blow. They've been doing it since high school. You'd probably never even notice.

I don't get why cocaine use would preclude someone from being an acceptable candidate for a long-term relationship. If anything, I think girls who use cocaine will be wary of your immaturity and close-mindedness, and you won't have to bother seeking them out. I'm sure you'll feel differently about this in a few years, when you've grown up a little.

SWIM would realy think that it depends on the people a person hangs out around. its a fact that the majority of the world arent into drugs.

swim is from a major city in southern cali too and yes drugs are easy to find and pretty common. but it realy isnt the norm for MOST people. its mainly in the party crowds, colleges, and high schools and among the drug addicts. other than that swim doesnt see anybody else doing drugs (maybe pot)

but even if SWIY did find a girlfriend that did coke, it doesnt make her a bad person. its her decision and if it gets out of control then obviousely swiy cant get caught up in that and should probably leave. in all probability if she is gonna do drugs it will probably be the more common ones. like weed and alcohol.

nah, IMO stimulants suck.....the drifter has always found them to be boring (or at the most utilitarian) i know plenty of others that feel the same way..
