Hippie's guide for volumetric measuring using jello

A dead bird fell out of the sky with a long ribbon tied around its legs. The ribbon had instructions to post the written message here. I do not know the source of the ribbon nor the author of said ribbon.

Quote:
This method was created on the fly since a sensitive scale wasn't available for measuring very slight amounts of psychoactive chemicals. I used The jello method for volumetrically measuring out 2C-T-2 and had great success. Even doses were able to be made without consuming very much material and it was an added kick being able to trip off of a dessert treat. And being able to talk about jello like it was something special, out in the open, was fun as well and made for easier discussion of not so easy things to talk about. I'm not sure about less stable tryptamines but this method ought to work well for most phenethylamines. Before attempting this procedure know the melting and boiling pt. of the chemical being used to get an idea if the chemical could hold up under the heat used in this procedure

Necessary Hardware
1 Small Pot
1 8in X 8in (20cm X 20cm) baking dish, preferably with plumb sides as opposed to slanted sides.
1 Wooden Spoon
Heating device (stove, hot plate, etc)
Measuring Tape
Paring Knife
Chopsticks
Straightedge
A level cool area to let the jello set up(meaning make sure the fridge is pretty level before attempting this. Fridges can usually be leveled out by screwing or unscrewing small legs at each corner of the unit)

Other Necessary things
2 Boxes of Gelatin (easily found in any supermarket, Note: gelatin isn't vegan)
water
Any flavorings wanted (I used Mountain Dew, it wasn't a strong enough flavor but it was a cool green color)
Whatever chemical that needs measuring

Instructions

Make the Gelatin according to the box's instructions except the box will likely say use 1-2 packets of gelatin. For this recipe success was had using 6 packets of gelatin at a time. It's good to evenly sprinkle the gelatin, lightly in the water while stirring at the same time. Otherwise it will congeal and not thicken the water. Add any flavorings at this point.

Pull the jello pot off the heat. Add whatever chemical at this time evenly and stir. Stir for 5 minutes or so to get the chemical evenly distributed.

Pour into the 8in X 8in baking dish and let cool.

Keep in mind that the surfaces of the pot and the spoon contain whatever chemical that being used, so be sure to pay them special attention before the next time they are used.

This is an example of what the jello will be like prior to measuring and cutting.

After letting the gel set up Use the measuring tape and the straightedge to create a regular grid pattern across the surface of the jello. Use the knife to show each line. I used three grams of 2C-T-2 and I wanted 10mg doses, so I needed 300 cubes of jello. 30x10=300 so I would need 30 lines going one direction and 10 lines going the other direction. For whatever amount of material you use, it's not difficult to figure out the math necessary, follow that process as an example if needed. I measured across the jello and found that it was 196 mm across by 196 mm long. Every 19.5 mm I made a line going from top to bottom. every 6.5mm I made a line going across. I did the 6.5mm sections every row instead of over the entire thing to make things easier to manage. I'm very proficient with chopsticks so it was very easy to grab each dose using them, and the extra large amount of gelatin we used means that the jello is very dense and not very liable to break when under the pressure of the chopsticks. No matter how many doses are needed, it's best to cut them all at once. Jello by nature evaporates as it sits out so that means it will decrease in volume if left out over the course of weeks and measurements would be off if not done all at the same time. I suspect premeasured doses would be able to be stored in the freezer for a long time without damage. I had mine out at room temperature over the course of 5 weeks and no loss of potency was exhibited. It did make for a very interesting time when people got to eat jello in order to consume the chemical

Re: Hippie's guide for volumetric measuring using jello

That's a fantastic idea for a simple yet effective way of measuring RC's. I suppose that the liquid gelatin mixture would be very homogeneous while it's on the burner, and then settle quite evenly as well. And as someone mentioned above, it can also be cut very evenly and effectively to measure out the proper dose. And finally, jello is fun.

Make sure to spend some time tripping out on a "Cosby sweater" after consuming.

Re: Hippie's guide for volumetric measuring using jello

My raver friend has completed this process with immaculate results each time. OCD is very helpful for it, from cutting precisely to leveling the fridge.

One suggestion though, try using smaller pans to avoid having to consume a larger piece of jello if a large quantity of research chemicals aren't feasible for your own application. Also if there are vegans interested in this TEK, there have been no trials using a seaweed based gelatin as opposed to the traditional cow-based gelatin, read: Your Mileage May Vary.
