Social - Is pcp a popular recreational drug anywhere?

Swim has wondered this too, in swims are there has never been pcp at all. Swim thinks its ironic they test for it on most standard drug tests since it is prolly very rarely abused anymore.

SWIM lives in a majot city in the US. from what he knows pcp is realy only seen in realy bad neiborhoods and the inner city areas. other than that he hasnt hear of pcp ever getting very popular mainly because its too unpredictable and there is such a heavy stigma on it.

swim has heard of some shady people at raves selling it but most avoid it because it is seen as a "ghetto" or a "Dirty" drug.

Another reason for pcp's loss in popularity may be the fact that other disossciatives like ketamine and dxm are available.Ofcourse ketamine is rather difficult to find in swims area aswell but dxm is certainly not difficult to get.

SWIM went through a few months where he and his friends would drive a hour to and from a disclosed location where we would pick up little blue baggies of PCP-soaked tea leaves. The "wet" was weak, the drive was weaker, and perhaps the "weakest" part of it was the stupid feeling you have after making phencyclide your friend. They eventually lost the dealer's number, and they've all been alot better off since.

I wonder why would people even do such a nasty drug, I have never done it and never would because of all the nasty things I have always heard about it. Why do people even do pcp??? Does it make them feel well or have an interesting experience? My first guess would be no.

It can have a pleasant effect in a low dose. Sort of like N2O in a way - but lasts much longer. But just a tad too much - and you're utterly gone. Giant washing-machines are chasing you down the street and you're punching-out oncoming traffic. Yabba-Dabba-Doo! A psycho version of Fred Flintstone takes the stage.

bullshit, its very much like ketamine, except it has a weird slightly amphetamine like feel to it. its populary seen as a insanity and violence inducing drug, but this is mostly because it asscociated with minorities and other 'undesirables', while ketamine is asscociated with a more well educated white suburban user.
swim has used pcp a handful of times and finds it very pleasant and interesting on pare with ketamine and in some lesser ways with a high dose dxm trip.

thats the only positive story or experience swim has heard of. yes there is alot of stigma about pcp, but at the same time we have to wonder how this stigma even came about. exaggerated info or not, it came from a real place. its pretty easy to spot a fake pcp story. but swim has heard REAL stories from various people. most of the stories were people getting out of control and having to be restrained and having a horrible trip. few were violent stories. most are are just about the overall discomfort of pcp.besides everything about pcp sounds "dirty" and gross. the name its self sounds sinister in its own way, and the function of the drug is bizzare and unpredictable, take those two concepts and combine it with all the bad stories and you have one nasty drug. swim hasnt seen pcp popular among anybody. it seems to be a drug like datura or the deleriants. not fun, not positive, just REALY fucked up.

SWIM has found a way to "perfect" a PCP experience of which he has tried twice, SWIM is friends with a man who is an ambulance driver, and therefore SWIM can easily be tied down to a stretcher.(can you see where this is going? lol) Anyways....SWIM got this friend of his to tie him down to the stretcher after Smoking a sherm and SWIM spent the whole time on this stretcher while his friend watched him wriggling around and laughing his ass off.

all the bad stories you hear are par for the course when you are dealing with morons, and almost certainly had little to do with pcp specifically. the effects can be summed up as making you feel like you are the star of your own truman show...and you feel a very strong connection to the world and have a great sense of purpose and power. very dissociating, yet very much in tune with your environment. what one sees when they are looking at a dusted person is not at all how the dusted person is perceiving his own actions. negative stigmas only exist because it is a "ghetto" drug and NOT for the weak-minded.

Swim came across sherm sticks repeatedly around 2001, but wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. They were fairly available, definately had a little surge of popularity. It had its following though, probably isn't completely unnavailable now, just people who get into it tend to have a way of dissapearing in swim's experience.

He knows a girl who was "that girl" like the 12 year old in panthers007's story, though unlike him, she still has all her extremities. Her experience was in California in the mid 90's. She described a circle of individuals living in socal at that time who used methamphetamine and PCP recreationally fairly regularly.

swim laughed at the drug test when he saw pcp on one of the pannels. But swim guesses that they put the most "dangerous" drugs on there, and the middle class considers pcp one of the worst, along with crack and heroin. But swim would only try pcp to see what it's all about as swim likes to know everything, and curiosity has definitly killed the cat. But all the nightmares aside, swim knows friends who think they smoked wet with the whole disasociation feeling, and one of them thought they were an alligator after blazing some tree, and swim thinks that he could handle something like that, as long as there's a trip sitter or something.

PCP is the one substance SWIM as never encountered in his area (Pittsburgh Area). SWIM hasn't really looked hard or anything for it, but he has yet to meet someone in the area with any connection whatsoever. Actually, now that SWIM thinks about it one of his friends knew someone who got crazy high on it. That was like 4 years ago though. Interesting note though, SWIM's aforementioned friend's friend's experience is pretty crazy. SWIM's friend (F) was with the person (FF) when they smoked it and F left the party, said goodbye to FF and went home. Well the next day F went back to the house and FF was sitting in the same chair, same position. F went over to talk to FF and FF said "What the hell, F, I though you were going home?"

Haha, if you didn't catch it, FF didn't realize it was the next day and thought like 5 minutes elapsed between F leaving and coming back the next day.

Anyway, bottom line, SWIM's never encountered PCP in the his area.

It was often sold as THC to white kids in the Boston area. Then as the economic level fell away, it was called 'Dust' or Angel Dust. As 'THC' it was encountered in small barrel-shaped pills - usually white with green specks. As Dust it was sold on parsley. Once in awhile, mint leaves. This was early-mid 1970's through 1980.

Once in a blue-moon, one could find medical-grade swiped (or otherwise "liberated") from veterinarians in the form of Sernylan (Parke-Davis). This was clear liquid that could be taken orally, or dried and smoked as 'Dust.'

Pcp was re-birthed by a few clandestine chemists in Tacoma WA. It was short lived and got alot of people fiending for it. Swim dabbled once or twice, felt cool the first time, like he was floating through time and he could tell what people were thinking, then the second time, it made him have some problems with his body and he dislocated his shoulder falling down some stairs.

PCP was one of those drugs that was never intended to be put into the human body in this swimmers opinion.

SWIM smoked a small amount of what was believed to be PCP and found himself broke off from reality, he was trapped in a translucent soccer ball, but later just laid in the dew and rolled around. His friend however envisioned SWIM with no head and thought to reattach it, at some point the character "tinker bell" was present and in a fight.
