What's SWIM's "Perfect Drug?" Please Explain

OK - so - SWIM has a pondering for the hypothetical heads of cyberspace...

SWIM is a 31 year old guy - relatively experienced with most common recreationals -

He's been smoked a lot of MJ in college - still gets high every now and then, but sometimes struggles with the constantthoughtparanoia that can result from getting stoned for too long.

He never really "got" cocaine - fun enough - but an allergy to it proven through repeated assays of various types and cuts steered him away. Since the thrill of it really never landed, he never opted to try coke's speedier cousin Meth.

He's done and enjoyed LSD a few times - enjoyed the trips immensely - but wouldn't ever really consider going back because the duration is so taxing - he's got a job, you know? The distinct, metallic, "chemical" body load wasn't really the best either.

He grew and consumed shrooms on more than a few occasions - the only "bad" trip he ever had was on Shrooms + Rue. Too real, too weird. He's the kind of introspective tripper who digs just laying back and watching the trees flow, or chilling in a semi-dark room with some trance beats going - not really a freak out and go nuts dancing around tripper.

He's done and enjoyed MDMA a few times - never got any doldrums afterwards (but only ever took one tab at a time). Snorted it with good effect too. Again - more of a chill, roll with it kind of fun with a little more inclination to get up and dance cause it feels so good. But not someone who goes around screaming WOOOO and all that.

Played with Salvia - but never really liked the twisting ride enough to make it something regular.

Experimented with DPT - really enjoyed the immersion and heavy visuals - spent four hours zoned on a couch listening to trance.

Thinks Nitrous is silly, but a fun kick.

Never got too far down the K Hole to really know more than that it was pretty ok. Would try it again.

Has extracted some DMT thanks to Mars and his glorious tek - but has yet to fire that puppy up.

Really, really enjoys the euphoric effects of Kratom, when they hit - wishes it was a bit more reliable...and a bit stronger.

He's a social drinker - makes his own hootch, but is long past his days as a drunken bar lout, hogging the keg for his own. he strongly believes that Absinthe is just another liquor, with maybe the slightest different edge to it.

He quit smoking tobacco 6 years ago. Thank god.

So - with all of that in mind - he turns to the wild and unfettered minds of the internets - and wonders - what is his perfect drug? He's a mellow guy, not prone to clubbing or loudness - social enough, but almost prefers to do his drugs solo - not particularly into uppers, to his knowledge - has a full time, high intensity job that means he can't go tripping for 14 hours any more, and even if he could - he's not 18 any more, and the body load from that kind of thing is just not appealing. He's not interested in getting his Mind Blown...he's not soul searching or hoping to attain any Great Answers. He's slightly prone to paranoia. He has a strong stomach - but isn't really interested in anything where "purging" is part and parcel to the experience.

Legality aside - what do the SWIY's on this grand board think would be the "Perfect Drug" for someone of this disposition?

Ahh - forgot about that - yes - SWIM really did enjoy the semi-narcotic/semi alcoholic buzz of G - made him social/talkative, but without an amped up feel. He did pass out on the can once, but hey, there are worse places to pass out.

He only had it for a few times before it became completely unavailable in his locale (he bitterly recalls seeing gallon jars of ReNewtrient on the shelves of his local health/supplement store at the mall...curses for not having foresight!)

well generally codeine or hydrocodone would be a good place to start out, theyre basically regarded as the weakest but they will take swiy to a happy place. or if one wanted a longer experience (possibly not if he has a full time job) swiy should try methadone or buprenorphine. bup is swims favorite of the two. methadone seems alot more subtle to him, but its a matter of preference. he could also order some dried poppy pods and make a tea from it if he really wanted to try opium. much less time consuming than growing swiy's own pods, obviously. swim understands the aversion to needles, hes fucking terrified of them (unreasonably, but still).

For swim there is no perfect drug, only a perfect time and a place for a drug. And depending on time and place one drug may be more suitable than another.

What would swiy define as a "perfect drug" ? Perfect for what exactly ?..... partying, going to the country side, having sex, being alone , playing music , writing ?

It all depends what swiy wants.

A (boy/girl)friend perhaps...They may cause releases of phenethylamine (think butterflies in stomach, or that 'love/trust' feeling), serotonin (think MDMA), endorphins (think Heroin/Orgasm), and prolly lots of other natural substances released through our body to produce pleasure. They're a fucking elixir of natural highs...not much compares to that. Chocolate tries.

As far as the perfect 'drug' in terms of substances people use to alter their state of mind/body in some way, that is highly dependent on the situations. LSD sucks at funerals, but it kicks ass at Disneyworld MDMA sucks before bedtime, but it's great if you're attending an all-night rave

SwiM would have to say marijuana is the perfect drug -- or at least as perfect as we're going to get. It doesn't cause any real health concerns, no hangover, it's socially accepted, doesn't cause death, no physical addiction, it's safer than water, has thousands of potential medicinal uses, causes social bonding and overall -- it makes us happy without making us feel like shit later on...no matter how much we smoke

If it weren't for the rapid tolerance build-up K would be my sloth's perfect drug.

The secret to reaching the other dimension is to go heavy from the start. If you take it too slowly you may never reach it.

My friend Gurn Dog finds that mushrooms gave him by far and away the most intense, all-consuming, orgasmic, enlightening and rewarding euphoric sensations, but he also finds that the circumstances in which mushrooms can truly be enjoyed are fairly limited.

MDMA is possibly the most flexible drug and produces a consistently great and clean feeling of warmth, joy, beauty, happiness and empathogenic openness, but again it isn't suitable for every occasion and effects still vary according to dosage, time, place and purity.

There once was a boy named Gimmesome Roy. He was nothing like me or you.

SWIM's question was borne out of examining his personal preferences/reactions to various substances...and wondering if there was something he'd inadvertently missed...and thought that the greater collective mind of DF could weigh in on whether there is something that fits his drug-palette.

From the discussions above...it seems like some form of poppy-tea might be interesting for SWIM...as well as further exploration of K. His newest explorations of DMT have been very very successful and are of the quality and duration that he was hoping for in a hallucinogen.

And of course - as many people have noted - "perfect" is completely arbitrary and an ever shifting notion depending on time, place, setting and mood. That goes without saying.

SWIM's main concern with opiates is the addiction factor...so far Kratom has been a good low-level substitute that is subtle enough that SWIM can function and work as well as enjoy the ride.

SWIM thinks it sounds like a low dose of DXM, or possibly mescaline if they're looking for a psychedelic, but mescalines prone to blowing your mind.

Sounds like either the DXM or opium would be SWIY's best bet. By DXM SWIM means pure powder, not any of the cough syrup shit, if SWIY is going to do it, do it right. In SWIM's opinion opium is much too weak to be "perfect" but it sure is relaxing, subtle, and nice to go with a cup of coffee.

My grandpa had a pretty good experience with the DXM and Bud combo.
He said smoking a blunt about 20 minutes before it's supposed to kick in. He can feel the weed high for a while, then get twisted from the DXM kick. He said that was the best experience he had ever had.

*lol* you're right for me it's working and getting into the flow, either mentally or physically with a sprinkle of whatever floats your boat. gettign stronger healthier and luckier, by spending exesively energy, that's a draw of luck imho.I hear of long term growth hormone, low dose cyles of corticosteroids and testosterone being the best for physical activities, let alone, getting into the flow by means of your physical activity, beats it all, or your cognitive work (like doing a synth) and a sprinkle of amphetamine(best for sex, also), for writing and socializing a bit of pure cocaine is best, benzos or opiates(heroine) now-and then, diversity and free choice of the weapons counts most among the natural highs.

Definatly marijuana, swim likes it because its safe fun social and msot of all it does not make you feel worse afterwards then when you started and also it doesnt produce intense cravings.

Methadone and bup as there favorite opiate some one knows what they are talking about. these opiates have a long half life. they are very enjoyable but dangerous to an opiate naive person. Try benzos. swim says most people love a benzo mixed with an opiate..... this being said a lot of people die this way its dangerous.

swims perfect drug would be an opiate-like psychedelic. With a good amount of benzo effects in there. Of course, with no chance of physical addiction.

Swim is very much an introvert, and finds psychedelics the most interesting out of any class of drug. However, swim was also an opiate addict, and the pure pleasure opiates give is unparalleled. And of course Benzos, because the less anxiety, the less of a chance of a bad trip. Swim can be social if needed, buit also can focus on introspection.

first time swim did this,

after holding in the gas for about a minute, started to slide off my chair to the ground. Don't know how many times this happened in swims head but it was over 20...each time with a slightly different perspective

now,

swim doesn't go for the sensation of time repeating. Instead, swim tries to capture a complex thought and get that to repeat...this way swim gets the same thought thought by different versions of swim. Leads to some awesome perspective shifts
