Setting - Favourite Setting For LSD Trip?

ive always wanted to trip on acid, but i could never think of what would be the best setting for it

from what i hear it seems that if you have one bad thought, the entire trip is destroyed

where could i go so that i wouldnt be freaked out?

i love going to gaint nature parks when i'm tripping its so calm, yo almost feel normal and one with ur enviroment like ur suppose to be there. Weirdest thing was last i was in a park tripping this deer fucking walks right up to me eats some berries and just lays down right next to where i was sitting.....This is why u want to have a sober person with u if u go to the park becuase i wanted to fucking ride the thing but my sitter convinced me not to

The one thing you need is to be comfortable with everything, where you are, people with you etc. and it should all go well. I like to trip for a little inside then go walkies and become one with nature. It's great fun.

in my opinion the best place would be somewhere you could be outside, like a nice beach or field (definatly someplace warm). but in addition you would also have a house (or cottage, apartment etc...) nearby. a good mix of the two.

a good sitter will really help your sense of security. in my experience, you can feel pretty vulnerable your first time out.

I was wondering what sort of setting you heads like to trip in? I ask because it sometimes seems to me that everyone on the Internetthese days insists on being in a safe place with friends, with no risk, no unpredictability,NO FUCKING ACTION! If there's no risk of a bad trip, there's no fucking point to tripping in the first place. You need to test your limits, take this thing as far as it can go. Sitting in an armchair in your apartment staring at your hallucinations is just functioning within your known limits, you're not pushing yourself.Whatever happened to getting fucked out of your mind and tearing around town in a crazy psychedelic blaze of glory? Why are there so many pussies in the psychedelic movement nowadays? C'mon, guys, restore my faith in modern acidheads.

It is definitely a good idea to have a very safe setting for your first trip. After you get some idea of how you react to acid you can experiment. I like sitting in the sunshine outside or walking through the woods. A group of 6 or 8 of us used to do the kesey bus thingie too. We'd rent a van, all get zonked and just go where the road took us. I live in a rural area so we could drive for miles going from town to town. We usually covered between 2& 3 hundred miles. Once, several of us climbed on the top of the van and blew bubbles at passersby. We visited old cemetaries & speculated on the lives lived. I like going out to a bar as a group and listening to rock & roll too. Halloween parties are a blast when you're tripping. My favorite way to end an excursion to the netherworld is having mind-blowing psychedelic sex with my wife while a Pink Floyd concert plays on the tv. I recall a fantastic orgasm that coincided with the lead break in Comfortably Numb that seemed to last for years. Then it's nice to settle into a comfortable, colorful sleep.

Your way of doing it sounds pretty cool, though I don't think I'd drive while fucked up (though if I were to do so, a rented vehicle is a good move, don't want to smash up your own car, do we )

First time I tripped was in a science museum in an IMAX theater.Second time waswalking down the street at night. Soon after that in a zoo. By this point, I've been to many public places while tripping, and have never had a problem (I've never had one ever). I've never done it in a really big crowd though, like a concert.

First time I did it, it was in a dark room with only one dim light
emitting light. It did not give me a bad trip at all. I did think that
my socks were trying to eat me though. I would prefer an ambient
lighted room with some nice trance and maybe a couple friends.

Any relaxed atmosphere. Usually at home where everything is familiar or in a friend's house that I'm used to. I would like to take acid outdoors but we have terrible weather here and you can never guarantee a nice, warm night.

I Trip hard. I am barreling down the Freeway at 80 (very Mindful of Driving, this IS my Life right now). Get to where I am going. Hike into the Hills. Do heavy physical labor. Last week, I put a Swing-Set together (A 6-year-old could have put it together in 60 minutes, Yeah, sure ... unforunately, I am not 6). Last month I helped dig a Septic Tank for a Friend, for 8 hours (sweating away, but grateful that he will be able to have all of the modern conveniences).APeace-march, . . .


I am NOT Rambo, but I do my version of it (without the guns). When I am going to do something, I DO IT, dive right in, and keep going. I use the LSD as fuel, the fuel to keep me Focused on what I am doing, Right Here, Right Now. And as fuel to give me (just enough) energy to do what I am doing Right Now.


At other Trip times, I am not performing physical tasks. I look deeply into whatever I am thinking (or doing). If I am watching a Movie, I use the LSD to make it More REAL than Real. The same Trip, the same results: Be Here Now. Do it. Enjoy it. Let Go. ... The next Stop on the Trip: Be HERE, now. Do THIS. . . . (repeat as necessary). The Trip is over. Wow! What a Wonderful day I have had.

I didn't tell anyone not to; you misread whatI said. That's interesting what you say about concentrating better on driving when tripping. I'm only a learner driver myself, so I don't think I'd be able for it.

Who's Rambo? Anyway, man is the measure of all things. The worth of a particular activity depends solely on how people judge it.Agreed? Would it not follow that shutting oneself off from the world renders an activity worthless? That's how I feel anyway -if I try to stay at home for the whole duration of a trip, I get itchy, I feel that I'm wasting my time, that it's happening ouside and I'm missing it. So who's to say that engaging with the wold is better than not engaging with the world? The world.


The spiritualistdrug usersare ten times more intolerant than the party-goers. It's all over this forum - respect the sacraments, use psychedelics for proper spiritual purposes etc. etc. Anytime someone mentions using drugs at a party, the reaction is one of shock and horror.


I like to take sacraments (not 'drugs' - drugs are for criminals) in a shrine I've built in my home. Before the trip, I spend three days meditating on what the trip will mean to me. I chant a prayer to the god of LSD, light incense and put on a meditation tape. I think about how the governmentwants to turn us into mindless slaves by banning the sacraments. I think about how all organized religion is an attempt to kill people's spirits (with the following exceptions:Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, shamanism, paganism, anything practised by tribal peoples).But mostly, Itry to convince myself that I don't have a body; it makes me feel more real.

National parks are fun, especially during the week when there are few ppl around! Up at Bear Creek northern Cali in the giant redwoods are awesome. Yosemite is awsome to and the northern rim of the Grand canyon also.

I've thought about this too, I would love to be outside and experiencing nature. However, I live in northern canada, and have run across MANY a black bear, plus there are cougars, moose (dangerous, don't kid yourself) and *lots* of timberwolves. The conservation officers in town had to go hunting out of a helicopter after a pack came into town and was found trying to pull somebody's dog off the leash in the back yard. They aren't a problem normally, you usually have enough sense to steer clear if you do see something, but i'm not sure how i'd react under strong psychedelic influence. I would hate to think that the black bear across the meadow just wanted me to give him a big bear hug. I would also think that a sober sitter carrying around a loaded 30-30 would be kind of a buzz kill.

Also, the bugs (mosquitos, black flies) are insane midsummer up here. I almost went crazy trying to cope with them on an otherwise good mushroom voyage.

Anybody ever had any not-so-pleasant run-ins with nature while "out there"? And if so, how did you cope?

Home is the best setting at first if you fear a bad trip. You know where everything is, you should be comfortable, you should have things to occupy yourself with when tripping and most of all, you have your own bed which is the perfect retreat in case anything goes wrong.

SWIM has been in many envoriments but houses are nice and so is nature. SWIM however does not prefer to be outside all night. Maybe just make a journey with a friend and then go back to the house or just have someone drive you around. The perfect setting really depends on you as a person, weather you are and introvert or an extrovert, and what you like to go in general. The perfect setting for SWIM might be inside playing video games and music but SWIM2 miht not like music and games.

Just think of what you like to do and have a few different options planned ahead of time. If one envoriment gets depressing or boring move to another one but be sure to have a friend do the driving.

Nagognog, I completely agree with the bonfire, however, I am pretty sure most people don't go around carrying a torch while hiking in the woods. I am more interested in going hiking or mountain biking and experiencing the GREAT outdoors, maybe come back to or set up a campsite, but mostly exploring both inner and outer space. I guess a sober sitter with a can of bear spray might be the best option.

SWIM and friends took acid and went camping in the woods although they were not very prepared and the acid was weak! Overall it was nice but would have been better if they would have prepared. The moral of the story, be prepared! SWIM ended up having to take ten hits of acid to trip really hard. The camp fire was fun, and altogether SWIM and 5 friends were on about half a sheet of acid! They were tripping and just having a good time, althought SWIM would have to say it wasnt the best of settings.
