Goldfish wants to go to the store for chemicals

My goldfish climbed out of the tank and said he was gonna go to a chemical store. He said he would go in with some cash and buy suspicious chemicals that could get his tank raided. He said its no problem because he will pay in cash and be in and out quickly. He is also going to leave his tank around the corner so no one will know what he swims in. Is my fish crazy or smart?

I don't know how it is in the USA, but in most countries fish and other animals have to show their ID when buying suspicious chemicals and some data will be stored at the shop. If those chemicals could get his tank raided, he may not even be able to buy them. But maybe that is different in the land of the free fish.

What chemicals is your fish planning on attempting to procure? Most, if not all, watched chemicals require that the buyer provide ample identification, and paying in cash is highly-likely to receive some (well-earned) suspicion. Many watched chemicals are not even sold in these 'chemical stores', and even asking for them would raise suspicion. Please give more details as to what your fish is looking for, and the laws surrounding it may become less blurry.

Any "store" that would sell watched chemicals without pro forma paperwork is to be treated like a leper. Avoid!
