Detailed San Pedro report: First timers read!

Someone I met a while ago wrote this report about an experience with mescaline extracted from San Pedro cactus.

thx1134 added 0 Minutes and 44 Seconds later...

Psychoactive plants have a reputation for being socially unacceptable in this modern day. SWIM fears the social repercussions of this experience, but SWIM is typing this report in an attempt to inform others of the true nature of psychoactive chemicals. Most of what people “know” about mind altering substance are from opinioned officials and uninformed gossip. It is so much easier for a person to die from alcohol poisoning (a legal substance might SWIM add) than from an overdose of mescaline. Psychoactive plants are the safest and most time tested method of expanding consciousness. SWIM wrote this report neither as pro-drug propaganda, nor as a deterrent from trying these chemicals for oneself. SWIM write this so that people may gain a more informed understanding of what can be learned and experienced from a healthy trip.
In order to gain the most from this report; one must put all preconceived notions aside. Read this report with the utmost curiosity, and with a totally open mind.

Preparation:

SWIM prepared 18 inches of San Pedro cactus, ordered from an online store. SWIM cut the cactus into star cuttings, and then cut those pieces down further to make blending easier. SWIM put the pieces of cactus into the blender, with an equal portion of water, and SWIM liquefied the whole mixture. SWIM poured the contents into a large pot, and repeated the process until the entire cactus was blended up. The pulp rose to the top forming gross, thick foam that reminded him a lot of algae.
SWIM put the pot on the stove, and let it slowly heat up for about 45 minutes, constantly stirring during this time. The foam and water combined, making a dark green liquid. After continually stirring, a sticky slime substance began to form at the bottom of the pot. At this point SWIM raised the heat to a healthy simmer. SWIM let the pot simmer for about 3 hours until all of the water had evaporated. All that remained was a slimy goop at the bottom of the pot.
SWIM scooped the goop out of the pot and into a cloth, which SWIM used to squeeze all the liquid out. SWIM was left with a blender full of green liquid, and a wad of dried cactus pulp. SWIM put the blender into the fridge, and let it stay for a day until SWIM was ready to consume it.

Consumption:

SWIM drank two cups of water and took a multivitamin. SWIM didn’t know how the substance would affect me, and SWIM wanted to be as reinforced as possible should anything go wrong.
SWIM decided to drink a little less than half of the liquid (which was about 9 ounces, and close to 9 inches of cactus). SWIM started drinking the liquid at 1:30. This was the most vile and bitter liquid SWIM have ever tasted in his entire life. Drinking too large a gulp would make him gag and send him close to vomiting. There was a terrible aftertaste which needed to be countered. SWIM initially tried chasing down a gulp with diet coke, which was a terrible idea because the coke only gave him gas and helped nothing. SWIM drank the rest of the liquid chasing it with Powerade- which was a better idea. It took him about a full hour to consume the liquid.

The Trip:

‘Coming Up’ Experience:

After about 30 minutes of slow disgusting consumption, SWIM began to feel the effects of the mescaline setting in. Things started to become disoriented and confusing. SWIM was beginning to lose his place as a social creature, and interacting with people was difficult and awkward. SWIM was in a room with two other people (SWIM will call them A and B) whom SWIM trusted and knew well, so SWIM was somewhat comfortable in their presence. Loud noises would disturb me, and too much attention made him nervous. SWIM was having some difficulty controlling his arms, which made him adjust into awkward positions while sitting. 45 minutes after beginning consumption more people came into the room (C, D, and E) which made him very uncomfortable. These people didn’t know what was going on and kept staring at him while SWIM was trying to cope with an unknown experience. One person asked him two questions, which overloaded his mind: SWIM could not handle the sudden requirement of responding. That made him very upset and SWIM had to leave the room. SWIM hid in the bathroom a few minutes before going into the security of his own room to understand what was happening to his body. SWIM spent the next 30 minutes in darkness listening to music and thinking of things. Various friends would come in every few minutes to check on me, and ask him what SWIM was feeling. One on one contact was fine, and SWIM had no difficulty explaining what his feelings were.
This portion of the trip was characterized by disorientation and discomfort. SWIM did not get sick, but there were slight waves of nausea that came up now and then. Laying down eased the nausea. There was slight visual adjustment, but nothing significant. SWIM was beginning to experience de-socialization, and SWIM was having trouble managing himself in simple social situations.

The Wait:

SWIM calls this “the wait” because it was the period of time after the initial effects settled in, and before the “peak” of the experience.
After lying in bed for some time, SWIM went on a walk to the parade grounds with his two friends A and B. When SWIM stepped outside, SWIM was hit a great feeling of awe. The world was such a big place, and SWIM was very small. SWIM felt like his eyes had been opened for the first time, and that SWIM could see the world very clearly and very vividly. There was no visual difference; SWIM only perceived the world to be massive. The walk there was uncomfortable, because SWIM couldn’t focus very well, and passing people made him afraid.
Getting to the field was very nice. SWIM laid down on the grass and watched clouds go by. SWIM was able to see people and stories go by in the clouds. SWIM saw people dancing, people standing, faces, and various heavenly beings. When SWIM closed his eyes, SWIM saw faint red and orange kaleidoscopical patterns. Opening his eyes the sky was laced in green webs, and the webs were spreading and touching the clouds, moving with them. SWIM entertained himself with the different patterns SWIM could see with his eyes closed and then open. SWIM recall stating that the trip “wouldn’t get much more intense than this” and “SWIM should have taken more”.
His friends and SWIM sprawled on the grass for a while, and SWIM explained to them the various things SWIM was thinking about and experiencing. SWIM noticed that people made him uncomfortable, and SWIM decided it was because they were unpredictable. Nature is predictable, and therefore reliable. It will always hold the same course, where people are sporadic an unreliable. It started to rain, and we headed to the union to get a snack. On the way there the grass suddenly swapped colors on me, which shocked him and made him have to sit a little while. SWIM had a good laugh out of the amazement of seeing everything different for a moment, then stood up and moved on.
Upon entering the union, SWIM realized that SWIM was very afraid of going inside, because SWIM dreaded the interaction with the people there. SWIM didn’t want to see anybody SWIM knew, and most certainly didn’t want anyone to remember the awkward state SWIM was in. SWIM opted to stay outside, where SWIM would wait for the food to come out.
This portion of his experience was the most relaxed, and a good time for meditation and observation. SWIM had lost his place in the social structure, and SWIM no longer had any sense of what was socially acceptable and proper. Not knowing how to handle himself made him uncomfortable. It’s like going to your own trial where nobody else speaks your language. You are frustrated and worried, because you have a lot on the line and no way to protect yourself. Visuals were becoming slightly more distinct, with his imagination slightly taking control of what SWIM wanted to see. SWIM had a very close feeling with everything natural, and artificial structures and objects made him disgruntled at humanity. Slow waves of warmth would rise and fall every 10 minutes or so during this portion of the experience.

The Peak:

The peak of this experience came on very swift and unexpectedly. SWIM was sitting outside of the student union by himself when it hit him. The feeling started in his calf muscles and worked its way up his back and into his head. The best way to explain this sensation would be to call it a “warm prickly immersion”. When the feeling began to creep up his back, his muscles started to get very tense and lock up. There is a scientific name for this phenomenon, but it slips his mind at this moment. SWIM had to sit himself in an awkward position to keep his legs from twitching uncontrollably. His friend A came back out with the food to find him in an awkward position. He sat down with the food and watched him as SWIM began to involuntarily react to the mescaline rush to his head. When the feeling rose to his torso his hands began to tense themselves in strange and unusual positions. At this point it looked like SWIM was about to experience a seizure, or SWIM had Tourette’s syndrome. SWIM told his friend we had to get back to the dorm –that instant- because SWIM was about to trip very, very hard.
We got up and started to walk back. He walked, SWIM “walked” if you could go so far as to call it that: his muscles were getting extremely tense and moving was a strange and uncoordinated event. His hands were positioned out in odd angles, and SWIM probably looked like a retard. His friend kept reassuring him SWIM wasn’t dying, but SWIM knew that SWIM would be okay- SWIM just needed to get somewhere private so SWIM could spaz out in peace. About 5 minutes into the walk the mescaline rush hit his head, and SWIM started giggling uncontrollably. His face started ticking, and stretching into uncomfortable positions. It was one of the more amazing sensations mentionable, considering the fact that SWIM could barely control his body. Mentally SWIM felt great; SWIM was on the edge of jumping into a pool of wonder and amazement. It was very difficult to restrain himself from making that jump. At this time the only thing SWIM could concentrate on was getting back to his dorm. SWIM did not experience any visual wonder, but his mind was a mess. Thoughts were jumbled and streaking through his head out of control. Everything was chaos, and SWIM was under a huge load of stress to prevent his body from going into a total seizure in public.
After a very long time, SWIM managed to get back into the safety and darkness of his room. SWIM turned on some music, and fell down on his bed. SWIM closed his eyes and SWIM was immediately bombarded with images and psychedelic swirls of color. SWIM recall seeing many pictures and stories flash through his eyes. Whatever SWIM could imagine SWIM could see. The most vivid image SWIM can recall was a “psychedelic tunnel” with black at the end of it. While traveling through this tunnel, SWIM was visited by a flashing white light. This light confused him because his room was completely dark, and no source of light was around to make this appear in his mind. SWIM opened his eyes to see what it was. Nothing. SWIM closed his eyes and the flashing light was back. It moved around his view, observing him while SWIM was in the most intense part of his trip. SWIM figured that this was the spirit of mescaline visiting me, curious as to who this new visitor was. SWIM decided to respectfully announce who SWIM was to this flashing light. SWIM told the light who SWIM was, and what SWIM was doing there. SWIM told it that it was too bright and it was bothering me. The light toned down and it continued to orbit around for about a minute or so. SWIM cannot recall how much longer SWIM was lying there, but it could have been anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour.
After SWIM had grown accustomed to seeing the universe with his eyes closed (which is something that SWIM will never ‘get tired of’) SWIM decided to prod other aspects of his consciousness. SWIM realized that SWIM was feeling very sexually active, and that SWIM “wanted to fuck something.” SWIM was occupied with ‘inappropriate’ images in his mind for a few minutes, when SWIM realized that his sexuality was in control of me. This disturbed me, because that meant that SWIM was letting his primal instincts get the better of me. SWIM was afraid that the mescaline spirit was tempting me, to see what his true motivation to trip was. SWIM wanted to prove SWIM was inspired by the right reasons, so SWIM found himself straining to regain logical control of his thoughts. SWIM was unable to resist with simple mind power, so SWIM decided to get up and go somewhere else that could distract me. SWIM went straight into his friend F’s room to discuss how the trip had been thus far. SWIM lay down in his room and talked to him about what SWIM had felt and what SWIM was currently feeling. He listened with interest and SWIM rambled on about the universe as SWIM saw it. After 10 minutes or so SWIM left his room and went back into the darkness of his room to resume pondering life’s aspects.
SWIM would say that the peak lasted about 2 hours. It was obviously the most intense part of the trip, and it was certainly the most vivid. SWIM was able to think with extreme ease and ponder unlike any other state SWIM has been in. It was like the gears in his mind had been greased, and all the shortcuts were being taken. SWIM could develop conclusions and concepts with extreme ease. SWIM could find a parallel to any situation to something alive in nature. SWIM was able to form metaphors to what SWIM was thinking so SWIM could understand it better, and was able to share these ideas with others. SWIM was a think tank. SWIM desired to integrate ideas and connect unrelated concepts. SWIM found himself thinking a lot about nature, and SWIM was constantly drawn to go back outside (it was raining, so that wasn’t going to happen). SWIM thought a lot about life perception, death, life after death, personalities, identity, what makes a person who they are, etc.
During this time SWIM was also experiencing an uncontrollable physical twitching, and his body was extremely tense. All of his muscles were “flexing” making him very rigid and stressed. SWIM had a slightly increased heart rate, and breathing was normal and relaxed.
SWIM was completely and utterly severed from all social ties to humanity. SWIM was able to look in on social situations with a total third person stance, and SWIM could not relate himself to any social class or niche. SWIM wanted to be completely isolated and exist in harmony with nature. Despite this feeling, SWIM logically knew that wouldn’t work and was not possible, and that SWIM would have to somehow learn how to cope with the unpredictability of society.

The Decline:

SWIM call this the “decline” instead of “coming down” because of the duration it took for him to consider himself ready to re-enter a public place. SWIM spent most of this time in his room pondering things like the flaws in society and how things were different with Indians. his mind was no longer under chemical stress, and SWIM had grown adjusted to the mescaline in his body. SWIM was able to cope with the sensation and interact intelligently with others.
After lying in his room for quite some time, SWIM decided to go share his thoughts with his friends C and D. SWIM went into their room and shared an idea SWIM had come up with about heaven and hell, and SWIM was very competent in explaining what SWIM had thought up. SWIM found himself losing focus easily, and his thoughts were quite fragmented. Despite these hurtles, SWIM could convey a message intelligently and SWIM was able to represent his thoughts on paper to further his point. SWIM spent a few minutes in this room talking about other “deep” subjects, before SWIM returned to his room to meditate once again. 10-20 minutes later SWIM got hungry and went back into the same room and got a sandwich from them. SWIM ate the sandwich in silence and returned right back to his room. Another 10-20 minutes later SWIM became restless and SWIM wanted to go on a walk. SWIM recruited the help of friend D, and we went on a walk to the union.
During this walk SWIM was very animated and very alive. SWIM still had a strong muscle tick in his hands, and SWIM still retained a slight fear of human interaction. Upon reaching the union, we found that it was closed, so we decided to walk to the rec center and get a smoothie. While walking there, SWIM shared many of his recent thoughts and revelations to D. He listened patiently and with interest (which made him feel very comfortable) while SWIM continued to ramble about society, nature, and Indians. One incident that SWIM found rather interesting was when SWIM decided his stomach hurt (from the sandwich) and we needed to sit. SWIM was still very alienated from normal social interactions, and SWIM felt no shame in just sitting on a nearby bench. However, SWIM was worried for his friend who SWIM knew was still very much in touch with reality. SWIM decided SWIM would be helpful, and invent a good reason for us to be sitting down. SWIM told him to pretend we had just finished a cigarette, and SWIM would rest while he stretched or did whatever a recently-finished smoker would do. This scenario seemed very logical, and would prevent him from feeling awkward. SWIM was later informed that this scenario was *completely* unnecessary, and that SWIM was wasting effort on something that didn’t even matter.
Upon reaching the smoothie king, SWIM sat down on a close couch while D ordered his drink. SWIM took much interest in noticing the people moving in and out of the building. SWIM realized that perhaps SWIM should be working out too, and maybe SWIM should be enhancing his body to assist him in attracting a mate.
SWIM caught himself and thought, “No, SWIM didn’t need to look strong to get a mate- SWIM could do it off of personality alone”.
SWIM countered that idea with, “Yes, actually, you do need to be strong to get a girlfriend in this society. What the fuck are you doing lying down on this couch? Get up and go exercise... wait, you can’t exercise - you’re tripping. That would be very bad.”
That got him thinking. If Indians tripped off of cactus, then it should be okay if I’m tripping off of cactus. SWIM juggled that idea for a few moments before realizing that Indians were a very physically fit people. SWIM understood that the Indians did trip on cactus, but the next day they got right back to work picking berries and killing gazelle and such. The Indians had a purpose in life; they didn’t sit around all day getting high. They had to work to survive and every person had to contribute. That thought kind of shocked me, and made him feel quite worthless lying on a couch in the middle of a health center.
When D came back with his drink SWIM shared this revelation with him. SWIM told him that what made the Indians so special was that they actually applied what they learned on these trips. They didn’t recover and then just dose up the next day. They lived active, healthy lives and felt honest intention in it. SWIM decided SWIM wasn’t going to be a worthless sack of flesh, and that SWIM would work harder to develop a purpose in his life. We got back to the dorm, and SWIM went back to his room to lie down for a while. The 30 minute adventure had worn him out and SWIM needed to rest a little bit.
This portion of his trip was characterized by drawing everything SWIM had seen and learned together to form lessons and stories to tell and learn from. SWIM recalled the day’s events and interpreted what they meant. SWIM was able to share these revelations with others without freaking out. Physically his body was getting very worn out for several hours of tension. his hands were still flexed in exaggerated and awkward positions, but the rest of his body was beginning to return to normal. his eyes were very tired, but his mind was still awake and ready to think. There was very little visual hallucination, but occasionally a pattern would jump out at me, or spin around a little bit.

Coming Down:

This part of the trip was the most frustrating for me, because SWIM had almost fully returned to mental and social capacity, but his body was still unwilling to do what SWIM told it to do. SWIM walked with a psychedelic glow, and SWIM felt like everything in the world was going to be alright. This is a good time to spend with friends you aren’t as close with, because you can fully appreciate the time and concern spent with on other.
SWIM was able to eat without feeling sick, and SWIM could function as a semi-capable member of society. Busy places are still a bad idea, but SWIM could have probably visited them with only slight anxiety. It wasn’t until about 10 hours after drinking the brew was SWIM fully back to normal.

The Experiences:

The Cloud Men:
Outside on the parade grounds SWIM had the privilege of cloud watching. The clouds floated by and created stories which SWIM would watch develop and transition into new stories. One story SWIM saw was a man and a woman hugging each other. It was a passionate sort of hug that lasted for a while. Another man came out, and this cloud man was watching with perverse lust. That perturbed me, because it was so blunt and well represented. This story faded away and SWIM got up.
A few minutes later SWIM lay down again, and watched some more clouds. This time SWIM saw a colossal cloud, which looked like an ancient Greek god of some sort. The face was looking down at me, watching him sternly. SWIM asked the cloud “Do you approve of me?” The cloud nodded and it moved on. SWIM later saw giant people in the sky looking down on us. There was a lower layer of clouds that moved faster. This layer of clouds was like stained glass. The giant men were sliding the glass around, looking at me. They were taking turns sliding the glass around so they could see him through the holes.

The sexual parasite:
SWIM wanted his logical self to be in control, and SWIM did not want to be dominated by his sexual drive. SWIM tried resisting, and diverting his thoughts elsewhere- but to no avail. SWIM developed an image in his mind to go along with what SWIM was thinking. SWIM imagined his mind represented as a person. This person can go about its business without much interference from a sexual drive. Sexuality is not a “voice” or some ally: your sexual drive is a host of parasites. Whenever you get ‘in the mood’ and find yourself controlled by sexual thoughts, your mind is covered by these parasites, surrounding and dominating your mind; inhibiting rational thought. SWIM was searching for a way to control this parasite, and to harness its power to help him be a stronger person. SWIM realized that picking the parasites off one by one does not work, because they keep coming back. After some searching SWIM found the source of the problem. These parasites were being released onto him from something in his neck. SWIM tore his head off and found a giant green leech attached to his spine. SWIM reached around and ripped the parasite from his body. SWIM tied its head off and put it in a box. SWIM replaced his head, and found that SWIM no longer had the parasites on his body.

The heaven and hell predicament:
SWIM was thinking about your typical “religious” people, and how they judge others who do not live by their standard. This led him to think of the simple polarization of those “who are going to heaven” and “those who are going to hell”. That got him to wonder: what if we already were in hell? What if this pitiful existence was really our own representation of what hell really is? What a funny thing that would be! We are polarizing the good and the evil, when the irony is everyone has already been condemned for being evil in the first place!

Multiple identity:
A person lives their life because they believe it reflects who they are. What if our current reality is a mirror of another past reality, only we are acting as a different person? What if who we truly are is different then what we perceive in this lifetime? It is a very abstract thought better represented by a picture, but SWIM felt it was necessary to include, because it might be significant in piecing together the truth of life after death.

Acid lightshow and it’s reflection of nature:
While in the middle of the peak of his experience, SWIM turned the visualizer on his iTunes on. SWIM began watching the swirl of colors on his screen. This swirl did not distract him for long, because SWIM realized how unnatural and fake these lights were. This light show was designed to stimulate a person on LSD, and make them trip even harder. SWIM was not on LSD. SWIM was above the power of a human synthesized substance. SWIM realized that this light show was a pitiful imitation of the beauty of a mescaline induced visual hallucination. This light show was created to imitate the properties of something completely natural, which can never be done. This light show insulted him and SWIM turned it off, inspiring him to go outdoors and bask in the beauty of nature.

Psychoactive Plants and their relationship with God:
God created psychoactive plants with a distinct purpose in mind. They were not created to “tempt” us into feeling good, or “sway” us from the right path. These plants were put on earth to help us FIND God. SWIM thinks that God created the first humans, and then placed these plants on the earth so that his creation could discover Him and fully appreciate what was done. There are psychoactive plants for all areas of the world, be it the opium plant, datura, marijuana, cannabis, psychoactive mushrooms, peyote, san pedro, whatever. They are as diverse and dispersed as they are so that any human on the earth has a chance to discover Him. God is not Christianity, God is not Hinduism, God is not the spirits, God is simply God. There is a supreme creator, regardless of whatever you think the proper hierarchy is.

Similarities in Thought:
SWIM realized that men and women both think the same way, they are just established differently. Being raised with different social roles and implications polarizes the two genders to a point where people think there is a massive difference. It is true; women as a whole tend to be more emotional over issues then men. However, when it comes down to the core of human thought, we all think the same.

The music that made it happen:
SWIM found that the kind of music SWIM was playing had a special affect on the trip as SWIM was experiencing it. Music without a defined beat inspired him to think. The flow of the music matched the flow of his thoughts. Everything went smoothly and with a steady rhythm. On the opposite end, music with a defined beat inspired visual hallucinations. Every beat would stir up the colors behind his eyes and spin everything around. The stronger the beat the more turbulent the colors became. As you could imagine, SWIM preferred songs with a defined beat, because SWIM was really getting a kick out of colors.

Conclusion:

As an intelligent and mindful person, SWIM can honestly say SWIM learned a lot from this experience. It was a very positive and rewarding trip, and SWIM was filled with a very sacred and natural force that helped him see things from a new angle. This chemical is not for someone looking to “get high” or “have a good time”. While the feeling was very pleasant and thoughtful, SWIM would not consider it a “feel good” experience. The trip involved a lot of introspective thinking, and was mentally exhausting.
SWIM HIGHLY recommend this experience to any person, as long as they are willing to go through the work in preparing it. SWIM feel that creating the tea was part of the experience, and finding an immediate reward in his hard work made the trip as special as it was.

Recommendations:

Dose: For a first time, SWIM think SWIM took just the right amount. SWIM think 9 inches of cactus is a little much for an inexperienced first-timer, but SWIM feel like it is enough for one to see what mescaline has to offer. SWIM recommends ingesting the brew very slowly over a course of two hours. When SWIM drank SWIM consumed it too quickly, and the 2 hour later mescaline peak shocked his nervous system. It came on suddenly and very hard. Drinking it slowly will prevent this from happening, and will allow the user to slowly build their way to the top.

Mood: Take this drug when you are alright with yourself and the world. This drug will not cure any problems, only make you more aware of the ones you have. If you are in an emotional rut, wait a few weeks before considering trying mescaline. Make sure you have a whole day to yourself, and that you have no obligations or expectations from that day. Turn off your phone and isolate yourself from society.

Setting: SWIM recommend being somewhere very familiar, with quick access to somewhere outside and very natural. SWIM found that SWIM wanted to be constantly be outside, and going outside comforted him a lot. Avoid people who will judge you, because you’ll only get panicked and preoccupied with the consequences. SWIM recommend being very prepared for when the peak comes, and in a place where you are comfortable looking like a mentally handicapped person with Down’s syndrome J.

People: SWIM STRONGLY advises having a sitter: A person whom you trust, and preferably someone with reasonable knowledge of the relationship between psychoactives and the human mind. You aren’t going to die from San Pedro cactus, and you need someone round who is confident that you won’t. Also, a person on mescaline is emotionally sensitive, and is prone to being easily agitated. A sitter who knows how to talk and listen is important as well.

Combinations: SWIM doesn’t think this drug should be combined with anything else. It is a spiritual drug, and adding any other mind altering substance to the mix could potentially destroy the purity of the experience. SWIM can imagine that other natural psychedelics (i.e. Mushrooms, cannabis, etc.) would be a good idea, but a first time tripper should not even consider combining.

Final Recommendations: Before this trip SWIM took a multivitamin and drank some water. This is something SWIM advises for anyone taking any sort of inebriant (or doing anything physical for that matter) because it reinforces your body and helps you recover from any potentially negative affects. DO NOT EAT. You can eat before the trip, but not immediately before. Do not eat during the trip. It will make your stomach hurt and you might vomit.

thx1134 added 2 Minutes and 41 Seconds later...

After time had passed, someone I met tried san pedro again, and was able to extract more concentrated liquid by boiling the preparation even longer. This reduced the amount to drink to about 100mL instead of a pint.

Enjoy!

Re: Detailed San Pedro report: First timers read!

Great writeup! I enjoyed reading this trip report, thanks. You described some of the classic aspects of the psychedelic experience.

SWIY should take the time to contemplate the insights he had on this trip and integrate them into his life. (Don't make the mistake of trying to chase the experience by tripping again too soon.)

Re: Detailed San Pedro report: First timers read!

swim just sent me a small overview of his experiences:

1. swim likes to have a long and healthy sleep the day before.
2. swim has a light breakfast and avoids milk products.
3. swim takes magnesium (for the muscles) and a multivitiamin (always good )
4. swim wears casual clothes and doesnt use anything that could smell strong (perfume!)
5. swim doesnt even think of using his mobile phone (turn off!)
6. swim only experiences such things with people he can trust.
7. swim had bad experience going to party while on it (first-timer;see no. 6)
8. swim experienced a lot of thoughts and ideas coming up while on it. some of them can be very disturbing and confusing -> swim shouldnt be afraid of getting help from others.
9. swim also experienced inpatience and therefore a "very slight" overdose -> respect the substance and take ur time

very nice written. i like the way u try to draw a picture of ur thoughts. cheers
