OK, here's my question: Being that modafinil is pretty much insoluble with water, does that mean it would not be effective if taken sublingually?
[Here's the background on, "Why". Modafinil can be quite expensive. I recently read a reputable study that stated 90% of the modafinil ingested orally is destroyed and not absorbed. It went on to suggest that a sublingual route of administration would be much more beneficial... and then it listed all these reasons why. These reasons are irrelevant to the subject of my question. Read the posted studies if you want more info - I'll paste the links.]
Therefore, if aborbing it sublingually would create a rapid-onset and possibly save money... then, can this be accomplished in a normal way at home? Like... crushing it up into a powder and placing it under the tongue for a few mins? Or, do you need some fancy equipment and use some other chemcials to modify the solution to make it usable with a sublingual method of delivery?
