Dosing Liquid Methadone for the Less Tolerant User
SWIM is by no means an opiate newbie, and has done almost every perscription painkiller in the book, heroin, and tablets of methadone in the past. But at the moment SWIM has been doing opiates pretty sparingly, and only does opiates when they're offered for free. As a result all he's done lately is some hydromorphone a couple times in the last few weeks, most recently 8mg insufflated with was more than adequate to make SWIM feel nice.
His question is this: during past methadone experiences he had tablets with clear dosages, and the last time he did it (probably almost a year ago now) he took one, waited till it hit fully, and then took another. Did this a few times, was about right probably. Now, though, SWIM has aproximately half a bottle of pink colored liquid he got off a heroin addict in harlem. It's definately legit, it was a sealed bottle with his name/clinic etc on it, but the bum wasn't exactly an expert in safely dosing methadone for a non-addict. I'm not the most cautious guy in the world (buying methadone and doing heroin aren't wise ideas) but I do always play pretty safe, I've never gotten cclose to ODing and I'd like to keep it that way. This stuff sketches me out because I'm not sure how much to take safely, and like poppy tea, which I cut out a while ago, the onset is so long I'm worried I'll sip more than I should have and get really nauseous at best, or ODed at worst.
Any tips other than throwing it out? I'm under the impression the standard measurement in liquid methadone is aproximately a 1mg per 1ml? Or in other words 100mg a bottle, would that be probable? SWIM thinks 10 mg/ml would probably be good and if he was to ingest 20mg he would still be fine, but more than that would be iffy and SWIM doesn't want to end up ingesting 10ml and have it be 100mg of methadone. Suggestions?
