Ritalin dosage for first timers

I realise this must be well documented throughout the forum but these questions are always handy for people to get answers to so forgive me just this once. Ok, here we go...

Swim is incredibly tolerant of opioids and wants a go at ritalin, recreationally.
What would be a good solid starting dose for a first time? Orally.

orally? assuming you dont have any unknown(kinda oxymoronic huh?) heart problems i would go with 40mgs.

Snorting i would suggest 25-30mg.

Injecting 20MG.

Thanks for the advice. Swim decided on 20mg for his first dose then 3 10mg tabs spaced about 1 hour 30mins apart.
Bearing in mind I'm going off DHC cold turkey, Swim had and is still having a nice little time. A bit sleepy but that could be withdrawls, afterall Swim went from taking 300mg of DHC to zero.
Started to feel like concentration on utter rubbish was improved and became an altogether nicer person!
Does diazepam help the comedown like it does with speed?
Swim hopes so... got loads of the stuff.

Swim thinks SWIfnord is right here, 40mg oral or 20mg insufflated, SWIM remembers his first time on 20mg orally every 4 hours after taking 72mg concerta daily for a couple of years, he had palpitations and sweating among other thing for the first few days, but this might be due to sensitisation to the drug, so for a high 40mg would be the minimum but 20mg may provide sufficient effects.

Yeah SWIM thinks diazepam is a good tool for coming down of doses, mainly when sleep is wanted, but also if it gets to speedy and with unwanted side effects, SWIM has taken Alprazolam (Xanax) to chill out after too much speediness, also he has taken zolpidem orally and insufflated but orally is preffered as the drowsiness is short lived when insufflated after ritalin

Swim is having a superb time so far on his ritalin apart from not getting to sleep til 5am. That was on 50mg spread out over the course of about 8 hours.
Today, Swim had 30mg of Ritalin and a top up of 10mg about 2 hours later, now at roughly 2 hours after the last dose of 10mg he feels like taking more!

What swim is very eager to know is how often should swim take ritalin, over say 12 hours. Should swim just take one single dose of 40mgs at say 3pm and nothing more, or do you keep topping up?
I know people insufflating the stuff have a few bumps. But orally? Please give me your opinions.

If you have the self control its better to wait as long as possible many. people take higher doses then you but many people also bought puff daddys last musical album so i have little faith in humans to make intelegent choices. Another thing to take into consideration is that after taking another oral dose it will be even longer untill you can sleep. Maybe reading some of these would be helpfull to understanding what kind of doses others use,please remember that some of these people are those same ones i mentioned earilyer....

SWIM finds that orally Ritalin is easier to handle, SWIM can 'feel' when he needs his next dose, whereas snorting seems to increase cravings only tens of minutes after administration, and therefore more is taken in the same time period, maybe SWIY should make his minimum dose 20mg and therefore take 20mg twice instead of 30 then 10, 10 doesn't have the same kick as twenty and when taking thirty oral SWIY may get unwated side-effects, it is better to keep doses constant from day to day, set yourself a maximum daily intake of Ritalin and don't exceed it or you'll forever be wanting that little bit more. a good time guide is four hours between doses, also if you like SWIM don't get up until after 12 in the afternoon try not to take the dose you missed while asleep.

Swim wonders how excessive doses affects ADHD. Swim has noticed lots of benefits of Ritalin in remedying his ADHD but he hasn't tried recreational doses. Swim intends on sticking to his prescribed dosage but he's curious about what effects higher doses would have on ADHD.

Swim has noticed that ritalin doesn't make him focus that well anymore. It just gives him an energy boost, which he is still pretty capable of sleeping on even at high doses. Higher doses of methylphenidate tend to give him panic attacks MUCHHH easier than with mixed amphetamines. Snorting is definitely a better rush. Swim has overdosed on methylphenidate once. He had a bottle with about 500mg worth of ritalin. It was snorted in about a day and a half. The dose that caused problems was about 100mg in an hour. Swim couldn't do anything but lay down and feel his heart pound out of his chest(170beats per minute for over an hour) and hope he didn't die. Thankfully, swim didn't receive any apparent heart damage(he's had dye put in his blood vessels since and they didn't say anything about anuerysms, but it was for a kidney stone...so they might not have been looking...but i'm probably okay lol).

And horse bucket, they don't really help your ADHD then. They just make you really jumpy and alert and you can't really control what you pay attention to. You just zone out into virtually everything you look at. And there's a lot of anxiety and risks for heart problems. If you're going to do higher doses adderall would be the better drug. It's a lot more pleasurable than ritalin.

when swim first started taking ritalin, he found a good starting dose orally was 36mg (broken concerta cap), or 20mg snorted, provided nice euphoria and focus although swim would advise against snorting it as it only lasted 45 minutes for him

SWIM would say it depends on what effects you want. SWIM often took 20mg orally to just function a bit better without really beeing able to feel much.

My ninja snorted 30 mg's his first time and thought the high was better then meth. My ninja thinks Ritalin is AMAZING!!!!!
