Snorting - Cocaine absorption time?

How quickly is the "useful" part of cocaine absorbed? Is Swim doing any good by letting the dust settle in his nose, or should he blow it out pretty quickly after the snort?

SWIM lets the snow sit for ~10-15 minutes then douches it out using a syringe to help protect his nose. By that time any snow that could be absorbed through the nose... has been.
