Homemade bong question

Hello everyone

I have read and searched to my hearts content but cannot find the exact right answer so I figured I would ask on a forum like this.

I made a water bong mainly for my Salvia. I have never tried Salvia yet but I have been reading on it for several months now and believe I am physically and mentally ready, but I am not sure if my bong will do. My main concern is the bowl. I want to use a crappy homemade bong for my first time to see if I want to continue with Salvia. Anyways, for my bowl I am thinking of using a socket (used for wrenches) but the only ones that actually fit into my stem have an incredibly small bowl area. I have some pictures below of one that is STILL a bit to big.

Anyways my question is would a socket the size of the one below be big enough for a bowl, and would I need to worry about it falling through? Or should I just get a large socket and hot glue it. Would I need a screen for the larger ones?

I was going to use tinfoil but I learned that is a very bad idea, especially with Salv. I also included some pictures of my crappy little bong

Really sorry but I forgot to mention, on my bong ignore the blue thing on the end (a bottle cap) that held my tinfoil before I decided not to use it.

You have the right idea but only one problem. Smoking salvia from a homemade bong is different, using a torch lighter is alot hotter and not anything will do. Go to a headshop and purchase a cheap slider bowl. Use a 20oz bottle. Investigate SWIM.

If your going to use this setup anyway one would need a screen, buy one for this particular instance or if your going stealth sinks have them.

Thanks purplehaze. Yea I got everything all set I have the torch, know all the tips and tricks. Just the bowl is my one issue. If no one has any home made ideas I could just head off to a head shop.

Sorry I keep forgetting to ask (I'm used to an edit button) but by any chance would bending a spoon into a bowl shape, gluing it on top of my stem, then drilling very small holes where the stem opening is work? I don't think there would be any harmful chemical's released even at high temperatures (I am using a torch)

Usually only if you get silver membership (which isnt very hard), i think mods let you edit posts in case of self incrimination.
