UK - Sending 'Drugs' To the post office, please help

Hi,
I want to order some Nitrous Oxide off the internet but I do not want it to be delivered to my house, I'd rather get it sent to the main post office so I can go and pick it up, is there any way I can do this?

...this is not sending drugs to the post office as that is a legal activity which no one will help you do. There is nothing wrong with making whipping cream and buying the supplies for doing so.

Check into a "stop mail" or just go talk to your local postman and ask.

This happens to me unintentionally all the time. I can't imagine why you want to take an unnecessary trip to the post office, but I find that being out when the postman calls with something that needs a signature or is too big to fit through the letter box results in it being returned to the local post office for collection. The postie leaves a little card saying where it can be collected.

Bongo needs blood-pressure medication. His state senator suggests that citizens of his state order from out-of-country to cut costs as many find themselves having to choose eating or medicine. So Bongo recieved a notice on his door to call the post-office for the package. He did.

The post-office refused to deliver it to his home. They, very gruffly, ordered Bongo to come to the post-office in person and sign for this. They threatened to return it to sender if Bongo did not appear by xx/xx/xx date. Bongo called his lawyer:

A post-office is Federal Property. Not state property. While an innocuous blood-pressure med is in no way a controlled substance - ordering any drug without a federal permit is against federal law. Even though state law mandates this as something to be encouraged. Bongo was advised not to set foot there. Bongo asked again for delivery to his home. He was told to just shut-up and come on down!

Bongo's attorney was certain Bongo would not get his medication. But a trip to a federal holding facility awaiting trial - in several years.

Upshot: Bongo did not get needed medication. Bongo's blood-pressure shot up to 220/140. Bongo had severe chest pains. Bongo ended up in hospital for several days with needles sticking out of him. He came very close to a fatal heart-attack. Finally a team of doctors managed to bring his b.p. down and Bongo could go home again.

Bongo views this as attempted homicide on the part of the federal government.

Never, ever, ever go sign for jack-shit at the post-office. They don't care about the legality of the shipment. They care only to arrest you - and let the back-logged court system decide later on if you belonged in jail for years awaiting trial for international drug-smuggling.

That sounds like an absolute nightmare. Why do they bother with all that crap, why can't they just let you have your medicine? Especially as it was essential to your health. Anyway the OP is from Wales so there wouldn't be these kind of complications at UK post offices.

I have to sign for packages all the time at my Postal office most of the time them simply being computer parts. No one wants to arrest me but they will only hold the package for about two weeks and if I don't sign before then it is returned to sender. Also by Stop Mail I believe they mean when you are out of town you order your mail held at the post office. You could do that the day the package is supposed to come and pick it up. Or get a PO Box.

I can see that, the second you pick up your package its gunna rattle around pretty load and sound pretty weird.
I would send to a friend but either way those things are noisey to carry around....or just tell ur gf to lighten up its laughing gas lol

ordering nitrus and pills is different ordering pills is illegal. Why would you girlfriend be made if you decided to make some baked goods with homemade whippedcream?

one should not worry about signing for whip crea cartrages unles on the box it explains how to use it for illegal means.

one can also go to a baking/food store and purchase a box just as easy as signing at a post office

or head shops sell them usally if you are going to have to make a trip some where

Is ur gf at home during the day? if not u should be ok as parcles will be normally be returned to the post office if no one is there to sign for it. Why dont u treat ur gf to some special whipped cream fun then iam sure she wont even mind u bought more then u really needed! lol!

SWIM has found that nitrous oxide is on a list of several things that can't be recieved by PO Boxes (electronics, pressurized gas, etc.). At least where SWIM is from.

But can a SWIMmer really just have a package shipped to the local post office and go pick it up? This seems so obvious but SWIM didn't think about it.

In the uk Nitrious Oxide IS NOT ILLIGAL, its only illegal to sell the stuff knowingly that the person who buys it will inhales long as you don't suggest to anyone that you will inhale you shall be fine.

As for medication, as long as the drugs you have ordered are not covered by the 1971 misuse of drugs act then you can quite legally order small amounts of personal prescription medication.
